I overheard some women talking on the rail trail about not eating protein because it makes you feel heavy because it takes a long time to digest.

I was raised on meat and vegetables and would have a really hard time giving it up. Recently we have found some really good frozen vegetables so i am messing with Italian vegetables tomorrow. DH and I talked about it but it will be odd to have no meat. I might use Parmesan cheese though. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

We went to the Stone Harbor Memorial Day Parade and wreath ceremony. We always miss my FIL on Memorial Day when the Veterans come marching by. He was so proud to be counted among them.

It is so nice to create a tradition. We actually have a Memorial day in England. Much later in the year on Armistice day. Everyone wears a poppy to remind us of Flanders Field where so many soldiers died.
DH and I have relatives passed but we will not be able to go to their graves. We do have our memories though. In ground burial is not very common in our family now. Cremation is the way to go.

I did not know about the Dr who marathon. We have many episodes of the original on VHS. It was our eldest sons favorite. I met the Irish Dr at our public TV station.

Sorry I missed it. I am happy you and DH did not. ELK Neck sounds wonderful how far is it from you. We have friends in DC came from Las Vegas, he works at the WHITE HOUSE right now. They are from UTAH originally and lived next door to youngest son. We spent Xmas with them a couple of years back in Vegas. They are looking for great places to visit while he is in that area and asked us but other than Maine we rarely go too far afield except to visit kids.
Any summer travel plans yet?

Hugs Pat in Maine, xxoxo emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

First night of Greek festival

Thursday, May 26, 2011

Today was quiet...we had a damselfly on the porch, which made me very happy... NO chance to take a picture but the sheer lightness of the damselfly just made me smile. So today I did Zumba with the QVC show and had a blast. I cleaned and puttered and had dinner at the Greek festival with dh and a good friend that I don't see often(our work schedules don't coincide usually).

Now I am sorting mail and watching SYTYCD-a perfect day..... emoticon

Glad you had such a nice day. Mine was kind of uneventful, but ok. Hoping that the weekend isn't a total washout--it's supposed to rain. We've had plenty of rain and it's time for some sunshine! Have a great weekend yourself!
