    A few slices of strawberry is an infrequent but tasty addition to my salads. I've always liked salty and sweet together!

    So glad you got out on your bike. I love the chicken pic myself. I'm not big on fruit in my salads but I sure can do justice to broccoli and chicken. I'm glad your getting back to working on you. We can do only day by day.

I've pretty much been MIA for over a month...I've been eating well about 75% of the time... Due to an insane hectic pace, I haven't been on Spark and haven't ridden my bike since the end of March. I'm still down 20lbs, and haven't gained any weight...but haven't lost either. I'm ready to get my program back in HIGH gear! LOL! I will be seeing you on the boards! Spark On, Folks!

News Flash! I JUMPED off the wagon!

NEWS FLASH! I can't DO THIS health jig without SPARK PEOPLE!

To make a long story short.... I jumped off the wagon. I didn't slip off, I JUMPED! it all started with spring break and smoking some Boston butts with my family who I haven't seen in months. As usual, we all brought food! I smoked two HUGE butts with "Slap Yo Mama-Butt Rub" The "butt" was the only cheat of that day.... I ate pork instead of chicken or fish. OOPS! Nope! Scratch that! I also ate some of my sister's chocolate peppermint trifle (and I'm on a low-carb diet).

A few days later it was a fish fry for my brother.... which I COOKED! He's a quadriplegic and couldn't do it himself. I also cooked fries and puppies. Heck, we didn't even have a veggie with that meal!

A few days later it was Easter...and to ME, celebrating holidays means FOOD (well, mostly it means food). I baked a ham, made cupcakes and potato salad. ( think I ate about 1/2 dozen of those cupcakes over about 2 days.

On the heels of Easter I entered a work week that was filled with long stressful days, a HUGE workload, tons of stress and I had no time to cook. I ate at McDonald's one night, Churches Chicken on another and at a local BBQ place on yet another night. Go figure! BY that time I'm all like, "Who cares? Eat what ya want!"

I then entered the weekend, and said to myself, "Eat everything you want this weekend for Monday you DIET!"

So.... here I am. It's Monday...my newest "Day One." I've got to get my rhythm going again. I guess the only way to lose is to just quit completely! I put up a new pic on my Spark page that kind of sums up>>>>> Success is not a straight line.

Here's to yet another, "Day One!"

    Sounds like getting back to basics is what is needed here. I think there are more of us who have had to start again than those who just continue on there journey from day one. That's the beauty of SP. We have all the tools to get us back on track along with support and encouragement from our friends/Spark family. YOU can do this. emoticon

    I can't begin to tell you how many times I've gotten thrown off of that wagon. It's so much easier to slip up on what we know we SHOULD be doing. I guess the old adage is true ---Old Habits are hard to break. But guess what --one step at a time will help us change those bad habits into good ones. emoticon

    OH please girl i've been rolled over by the wheels on the wagon a time or ten. We just pick ourselves up and like the last post said dust off our butts and get back to it. One step in front of one step until the momentum is gotten. I've got your back and and remember you can have as many day ones as needed to reach that ultimate goal. Just takes some of us longer than others....i'm still reaching.

    Today is a NEW day and you can get up and dust yourself off and move forward. I sure hope you enjoyed the foods that called your name and branded YOUR BUTT. If you did - don't worry - just move on. If you DID NOT - then be NICER to yourself and MOVE ON. YOU CAN DO THIS - normal weight people sometimes have a week or two when one thing after another sidetracks their eating - then they simply get back up and move forward - so can you.

My cousin posted this picture on facebook. This defines my program. It also kind of reminds me of the Israelites wandering in the wilderness for 40 years!

We CAN do this. There may be a few detours on the way, but the only way we can't win is if we STOP! Dust yourself off, and start again! You can! You can! You can!

The Best Diet Meal to Date! (Don't look if you're HUNGRY!!!)

Grilled salmon, fruit salad and fresh asparagus! The salmon was grilled on a cedar plank over hot coals and covered in fresh garlic and lemon slices. Smokey, garlicky and lemony! YUM! This meal was the best one I've cooked to date! It was TASTY, HEALTHY and PRETTY!



Wow! I wrote 4 blogs in ONE day! Spring Break is great!

    Way to go!! Cedar plank is about the best way to prepare salmon. Another super simple tasty way is equal parts honey and dijon mustard brushed on the salmon and than grilled. Making me hungry just thinkin' of it!

    Looks great! I'd like to try the plank thing someday. I have to watch my fruit, so I'd probably do some cauliflower masquerading as potatoes.

    Ok first blog comment....You make me so proud for you and you have given me a wakeup call to me...I haven't been in my closet for clothes is so long...I just cry when I do, then the shoes. I have the hot pink, purple, and black NIKES. I love them. I'm in a pharmacy all day long with blue and khaki clothes all the time. Bright colors on my shoes are the best I got besides earrings. lol. Love the pics of your family and the meal....all I can say is OMG you do darn good work girl.

    Looks fantastic. Salmon is one of my favorite foods!! Never thought of fruit salad with it though. Love the planked salmon too. emoticon

But I eat only the wild caught Pacific salmon, not the farmed Atlantic salmon.
