Taste of Victory

Saturday, March 30, 2013

Wow, what a week. The scale gods were on my side. Now I am not saying I didn't do the work. I did track, track, track. And I chose right on so many occasions. At a lunch buffet (at a pizza parlor no less) I had my plan......big salad, water, one piece of pizza.....eat slowly. If I was still hungry, then another plate of salad, water....you see my plan. It worked. I only had one piece of pizza, one big plate of salad and two glasses of water. There were other victories throughout the week. And they showed on the scale this morning. So I will commit to repeating last week. I will not expect the same result on the scale but I know it is the healthy way to keep me on track to reach my goal. I can taste it!!

    Great Job Terri!

I had a loss too - but over all, I am still UP from the start of our challenge since I had a few gains! We will get there though!

Feeling Good -- Commit Me Now!

Sunday, March 24, 2013

I recently joined Weight Watchers and I have to say this is a much needed change. I've been half heartedly doing Jenny Craig. So now I will check in at Jenny once a month and will follow the Points Plus WW eating plan. Hubby is going to follow too. He is the cook (well really a chef) and we have made a pact to discuss the meals he is cooking. This is all good.

I know my plan is working because after gaining last week, I enjoyed a nice loss this week ..... and we were on vacation in Santa Cruz!

I am committed to this eating plan and will reach my goal. Just watch!

Sometimes such changes just bring the new motivation, energy, and Change that is needed to keep on going. I'm interested to hear about your experiences on WW!

Readiness -- How I Can Improve

Wednesday, March 06, 2013

There is always room for improvement. I need to be more consistent in my readiness. In addition, I can add more "things" to make the mornings easier. But before I add more, I will be working on being consistent!

I always have my lunch ready to go, so it takes off the pressure of getting out of the house on time. If it's ready, I'm sure I won't be eating junk!!!!

Well said, it is hard to improve when one hasn't had time to establish a solid routine or habit. Thanks.

Readiness -- How I'm Doing

Tuesday, March 05, 2013

It is definitely day by day. I'm struggling with my first introduction to menopause. This is coming in the form of night sweats. Now for someone who has always been cold, this is really a change. Also I have always slept through the night. I never get up for anything. So to be woken up several times a night for the last two weeks has been quite the challenge. I'm so tired when I do finally get up int he morning, cardio is the last thing I want to do.

Being ready is more important than ever now!!

I'm so sorry-I made it through mine last year and all I can say is, check out all the things to do to get through it, don't just live with it! It does present many struggles in the mornings, stay flexible! My main problem was I couldn't sleep, my poor hubby! Are you part of the sparkteam for menopause yet? I know it helped me! Anyway, day by day is a! good thing, so is one day at a time! Go for it! emoticon

Readiness -- Encouragement and Staying on Track

Monday, March 04, 2013

I am pretty good at self encouragement. Not racing around in the morning is a blessing in itself. Being able to add exercise minutes to the team feels good. And no matter how much I do the night before, it is never as daunting as doing it in the morning. Guess I was a girl scout in a prior life. I like to be prepared.

How nice that you are able to not race around in the mornings. Love the Be Prepared - haven't heard that one since I was a scout!

Keep on Keeping on!
