Just to get the sparkpoints I made one of those goals charts. I didn't think I'd actually use it. Yep.... I was wrong. That thing is taped to my mirror, and I rewrote it in HUGE letters. And I like colors, so there are colors. Here's a picture of my original goal sheet.
Some of the goals have changed, but generally speaking they're about the same. And some don't apply any more, like the bridesmaid one. I'm not sure if I looked better than them, but I felt a lot better than I had in long time.
Anywho. Some of these I've kind of accomplished. My clothes are starting to fit better, and I noticed that for sewing my clothes I'm starting to fit the pattern sizes better than before. I don't have to fudge the pieces any more, which makes cutting them out a TON easier.
Next goal that I'm keeping close is skiing. My family always goes skiing, and that week is the highlight of my life. I was so mad at myself for the past couple of years being so out of shape and unable to ski as well as I wanted. I don't think that will be a problem this year
And last, but certainly not least...
I CAN DO IT!!! AND SO CAN YOU!!! ALL OF YOU!!!

So I've been working out pretty hard and been seriously counting calories.
I FINALLY learned portion control and how to mange what I eat. Thank you to SparkPeople.com!
I lost 30 pounds, but then Christmas happened.... It wasn't as bad as it could have been, but I still feel like I could have been more attentive to my meals and working out.
However, my friend did the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred and she looks fantastic! And she's kept up with it. And then my mom asked me about it, so I'm her guinea pig. And well... I'm trying it for myself.
Here's how it works. You do 10 days each level, and there are 3 levels.
The 20 minute workout felt like it was FOREVER! I thought I was going to die. My legs burned, my arms hurt, and all I wanted to do was lay down and die. But I stuck with it. I felt so good after the workout. It was brutal, but 100% worth it.
I woke up sore. My back was sore; my legs were sore. I didn't want to move. So I did a puzzle. However, when 9 PM rolled around I figured I should probably get off my butt and actually do something. The workout was so much better. However, I did put on South Park and watched that while I was working out. That probably helped distract me. Don't get me wrong, it was still hard.
I've got 8 more days with level 1. We'll see how it goes.
So far, I like it. It's a short, high intensity workout. And let's face it, everyone has at least 20 minutes to spare to do a quick workout. If you're interested here's the link to the video on youtube. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ve-WiQKi_W8

After a weekend at home, the calorie counting kinda went out the window. Oops.... so I'm gonna get back on track. Classes start this week!! Woot!
I have to make extra sure I stay on track here. I've got a wedding to get ready for My best friend is getting married, and I'm the maid of honor. And with that status, I want to look good. Plus I'm going to try to keep the bride on track with fitness too. We'll be long distance fitness buddies.
My friend has already had her first fitting, and she looks GORGEOUS!! Her fiance had better faint when he sees her in the dress. Because it is beautiful.
My first fitting for my dress is over Labor Day weekend, so it will be the first test to see how much weight I've lost. Second fitting is in October, and the wedding is mid-November.
I've got a while, but with classes the time goes by to quick. And being a stress eater, I need to make sure I keep on track during finals week and when I'm getting the final details set for the bachelorette party, among other things.

So on top of doing Rugged Maniac, my friend and I have been running... ish. When we started we could barely go for a block without dying. Thursday, we went out for a jog with her dog, Maggie. It started to rain, and Maggie stopped. She was not a fan of the rain.
Aside from Maggie refusing to move for a solid 5 minutes, we ended up jogging for 2 miles!! It's the farthest we've ever gone without stopping. We've been tracking out progress with the Map My Run app, which has really helped. It feels fantastic to look down and see how far we've gone.
I'm really happy with how it's been going especially since I've been on a plateau for a while. It's great to feel like I'm getting somewhere.

So I've been working hard since my last post to get in shape for an obstacle course. I crawled under barbed wire, scaled barriers, trudged uphill, crawled through tunnels, and got covered in mud.
Here's me and my brother finishing
It was probably the hardest thing I have ever done. But it was 100% worth it!! If you have the opportunity to do one of these, please do. The bragging rights that come with it are pretty awesome.
OK, I'll admit I walked the entire way, but it was 100 degrees. But I finished!! Woot!
So please, please do one if you can. It's so much fun; it's really hard. It's worth all of the hard work, plus crossing that finish line was so rewarding.
