SATURDAY:

It's a great time of year to set some goals and incorporate some healthy practices into your lifestyle. We are going into the Holidays with a lot of challenges.

Dr Phil said, If you fail to plan, you plan to fail! I could not have said it better.

Do Not say "I always gain weight during the Holidays". It's basically a self-fulfilling prophecy. Let's make THIS year, better than all the previous years. This is a way of life, not just something we do when it's convenient. We've done that for too long. Time for new beginnings, new adventures, new relationships that don't involve over indulging in food or any thing we put into our bodies.

I'm here for you, along side you. Let's give ourselves the best Gift: A happy Healthier YOU!

Today woke up about 45 min later than usual, intentionally. Went to the mall early to walk with a friend who really ran me around the perimeter of the mall several times, much faster than I walk at home. I walked for 40 minutes and did well over 2 miles.

I took the Crustless pumpkin pie I made with splenda and honey to the food court. There were approx 9 of us. We all enjoyed the special treat and everyone seemed to like it. We played lots of Trivia. Boy, my friends just know a LOT OF STUFF! Sometimes I wonder how they know and WHY they would even want to know some of the answer. But it’s pretty interesting to hear them come up with the answers.

Then off to SAMS for lunch with a friend. It’s pretty much my usual Hot Dog Saturday meal. Xtra sauerkraut also  YUMMY & Diet soda.

Then later in the day I took another walk around my neighborhood.

Walked 5.10 miles today. 92 minutes. 3.3 MPH. Burned 521 calories!!!

After that, came back and changed for Church. Went to church. Great service!

After that I went with Friends to McDonalds and had the grilled chicken classic sandwich and Apple dippers with low fat caramel dip. Great dinner with 3 girlfriends.

Now I’m home and finishing up my spark points, logged in the balance of my food and sitting here writing my blog for the 169th day in a row. WOW, hard to believe I been doing this that long. But I have also been sticking to a healthy way of living also for that many days and the scale, along with ALL my clothes tell the story, without me saying a word. People are really starting to take notice.

I am looking at clothes in the store that would NEVER have caught my eye before. I catch my self saying … That’s so CUTE! Then I giggle because I would not have thought them so cute when I was 73 pounds heavier. I have lost 36.5 pounds since 3/1/09. It’s such a wonderful experience, please join me in getting the High that losing weight brings and getting healthier affords you.

I’m looking forward to weighing less on my first weigh in, in January 2010 than I do as of my weigh in yesterday. I promise you, here and now that I will do all in my power to make that wish, dream, vision, come true.

My Calcium was low and My sodium was a bit high because of the hot dog and the McDonalds chicken. Other than that the day, food wise was perfect.

Try keeping the Nutrition tracker, if you don’t already, it’s the only way you will know what you are eating and where/how to make adjustments. Little changes, here and there, really make a big difference.

While I'm on a roll, I just figured my monthly totals for exercise:

I walked 34.5 miles from 10/25 - 10/31. YEA! (this week)

125 miles for the Month of October! WOW!

I could hardly walk a mile, just a year or so ago, now I just try to increase gradually. I'm very happy with my 5-6 miles a day and I think I can maintain that from now to eternity, unless something unusual happens.

    emoticon My Friend. There is one thing I see you need to let go- SODA. Diet or not, it is not good for you. I know a soda with your hot dog is great, but you have alternatives, I haven't drank a soda in I don't know how long.

    Gurlfriend, you said a mouthful! lol Your blog is beautiful! It's amazing how taking control of your life gives you so much Freedom! I love going to shop and actually get to try on clothes.. in the store! I hated shopping for clothes online... never knowing if the outfit would fit me or what it would look like on me instead of the skinny models. I'm free now to go into stores and try them on and say... wow, I look great! lol You're right about feeling high! Here's wishing that High feeling for everyone here on SP. Thank you for your motivation... You just keep right on inspiring me!

FRIDAY: Already?

Visited with some spark friends tonight. Had a great time!

I walked 3.5 miles today in 62 min at 3.4 MPG for 382 calories burned.

Went to the mall and sat and chatted with friends, made 2 sugar free, low cal pumpkin pies, went to SAMS for lunch, then out to a meeting tonight.

Also did a of house fixing up, straightening up, dusting..(Sorry for that word lol)

Phones were out all afternoon, someone somehow cut a phone line and the worst case scenario would be 'fixed by Monday". I told the girl I would be having sparks withdrawal by them. Fortunately when I got home tonight they were fixed, but I had to rush to get stuff in and it's already after 11PM. UGH!
I am not a night owl.

THURSDAY:

THOUGHTFUL THURSDAY!

I had 2 walks today for a total of 5.40 Miles; 98 minutes; average 3.3 MPH and burned 508 calories. YEA!

I was feeling great today and did my usual 3+ miles this AM. I did not intend to since I had been so tired for a few day, but I got out there and just zoomed around.

Had my morning walk about 6:30. Then went to the mall and chatted with friends and had my breakfast of oatmeal there from Starbucks with all the trimmings. YUMMY! Then home and made chicken salad sandwich for lunch and off to Pinocchle for the afternoon with friends.

More walking tonight after a nice fish and green beans dinner.

    HI I'm happy you are walking and that's one of the best things we can do. I don't keep track of my calories like you do, but I read everything and adjust from there. I'm not as smart as you I can see that. I also walk everyday sometimes on the ocean beach or track or around town. When it gets hot here I walk inside big stores. WEDNESDAY:

WORK AT MAKING WEDNESDAY WONDERFUL!

I had 4 walks today. Much to my surprise also. They were somewhat shorter, the last 3. But I had a total of 6.15 miles; 123 minutes; 3.0 MPH average; & 638 calories burned. Also did 5 minutes of resistance bands for upper body strength. I don’t’ know how to add that to my tracker, any help would be appreciated?

I feel smaller tonight for some reason. Maybe I had a loss this week. Friday will tell. No matter what, I'm smaller, in better health and thankful to My Lord for all His help in getting me this far and with His help I will be the healthiest person I can be.

I was still tired to day, but not like yesterday. SO that is improving.

TUESDAY:

TAKE TIME TO THINK THANKFUL THOUGHTS.

I had 2 walks today for a total of 5.18 miles; 99 minutes; 3.2 MPH average; & 514 calories burned. Also did 5 minutes of resistance bands for upper body strength.

I was extremely tired today. Up a lot last night, going to the bathroom. I drink a lot during the day, right up to bedtime and I think maybe I’m losing more weight this week and it has to come out somehow. At least, if I do have another nice loss, it will be worth some of the getting up and down. I usually get up 2 times the most, but last night it was 4 times.

Didn’t do much else, except took some more clothes in that are getting big for the 2nd time. UGH. Taking them in saves me lots of $’s while still having weight to lose.

I love the thrift shops also. Great bargains! There are 3 goodwill near me and they all arrange the clothes in color order. Kind of makes it nice to find a particular color range you are interesting in.

    Well, just another good day. That explains it, you drink water till you go to bed. I drink 16-18 glasses of water a day and I'm up 2-3 times a night. Try stopping about a hour before you go to bed. emoticon emoticon emoticon

    Good luck on the weight loss this week. I need to have some clothes taken up also. I'm still getting clothes from the co worker who is losing all the weight and have been blessed not to have to buy to many since I've started losing. Before, I never could find clothes that fit me at thrift stores. Can't wait until I can! Have a great day my friend.
