Wow,has the time been flying lately.

I gave away my almost new bike (had it 3 years and rode it around the block twice and felt unsteady and don't believe I will be able to ride it any further). I also found it very uncomfortable to sit on even with a larger "lady" seat added.

My friend who got the bike is 71 but has been riding a bike most of her life and her has worn out. She is very happy to have a new bike and I hope she is able to ride it for years to come. She needed it for grocery shopping as she does not have a car and lives at least 8 blocks from the grocery store.

My husband is going to give his mountain bike to my daughter as he has finally admitted his balance is not good. Daughter is thrilled but not sure when she wants me to ship it the 1000 miles to get to her since winter is coming and she has a very small chalet in the mountains. (What a problem!!!) She and her boyfriend are skiers and are so excited to find a place where they can walk to the ski lift and she can walk to work at the resort. I am happy for them and am waiting for pictures of their new abode. emoticon

Back to work today....feeling better....

Wednesday, October 20, 2010

Had endometrial biopsy...remember having this before..and it was pretty uncomfortable but got throught it okay. Dr. called me a "trouper" when done.... Results will take a week to come back. On Friday will get ultrasound done and those results will be immediate. I am a bit worried about the results of all of this but am feeling confident I have a good OB/GYN doctor (she looks so young!). She said everything looked pretty good but she did talk a bit about kinds of surgery that might be performed as that could be a possibility.

I am trying to have only positive thoughts about all of this but know ignoring the situation would not be a good idea. So I am forging ahead..... emoticon

Went to OB/GYN today....

Tuesday, October 19, 2010

I had an endometrial biopsy today and decided to take the rest of the day off work due to cramping. I will get the results next week and on Friday of this week I will get an ultrasound of the uterus. I am still hoping for the best and that it is a minor problem, easily fixable.

I am taking it easy this afternoon.

Where did the weekend go????

Monday, October 18, 2010

At least my kitchen got cleaned up this weekend. I hope to get the living room straightened up next. Hubby couldn't get vacuum to work and I found a large crumpled piece of paper in the main suction area. Also, bought and installed a new bag for the vacuum. Viola', the vacuum works now!!!

Well, back to work today and hope my coworker returns who has been out since the beginning of September with some sort of illness. (Supervisor does not share this info.) We have gotten completely overwhelmed with a backlog and I have been fending off the disgruntled attorneys who are looking for bills for their cases. I hope to be able to spend more time working on the requests and less time answering phone inquiries about where their paperwork is..... emoticon

Good news this morning...scale finally got "unstuck" and showed about a 2 lb weight loss. emoticon

Good night's sleep 2 nights in a row...!!! woo hoo!!!

Sunday, October 17, 2010

I am feeling pretty chipper (compared to pre-CPAP machine) and it has been less than a week. Both nights this weekend I slept in an extra 3 hours in the morning as I know I am still sleep deprived and it seems to be improving my general feeling of well being. I am still swimming about 5 times a week and going in the whirlpool afterwards and doing exercises there, also. I need to get my quad strength improved so I can walk better and do stairs better, but I know I cannot do this quickly as I still have the danger of reinjuring myself and it is just a fact of life that I will not recover from my knee replacement and subsequent quadriceps tear for quite awhile. I am improving a little bit each day, however. emoticon

So happy to hear that your sleep is improved with the CPAP. Good job exercising in moderation to help speed healing! Keep up the good work.

I am glad that you have found some help getting your beauty sleep. I like to call it that because without my proper rest, things can get pretty ugly, pretty fast. Nice to see you heading upward!
