Still recovering from only 1 mile walkon Saturday...

Thursday, September 30, 2010

I have tried staying active at a low level but the overall pain level is not much better yet. I think I am having a flare up of fibromyalgia and everything hurts. Have to keep moving although at a slower pace. Things should get better when I finally get a good night's sleep, hopefully soon. Waiting for follow-up on sleep study on October 12th.

Work has been stressful lately with someone out for the past month. I am trying to fill in for her but the workload has come to the stage of impossible. Have to speak to lead and supervisor today as I am not able to keep up with phone messages and other duties very well.

I know how you feel with covering for a fellow worker. Totally swamped. But is you can handle it, go for it.

Lofty goals need to be set back a notch...or two...

Wednesday, September 29, 2010

Overdoing on my one mile walk for the Arthritis Foundation (walked a mile only but there were hills, little ones) has caused me to reassess my lofty goals I set last week of exercising 1 hour a day. For now I will be doing around 30 to 45 minutes a day with an eventual goal of more than an hour a day, but I need to cut back a bit on the walking and stair climbing as my quad tear is causing symptoms. Yesterday I even got out my cane as I ached not only in my knees but also my back, neck and chest (I ached in places I forgot I had, too)....

Will not lie around and stiffen up, however...moving even if slowly is a much better plan. I actually have a few minutes before work to do the recumbent bike.... emoticon emoticon

Yesterday's spark anniversary a surprise to me...thanks to well wishers..

Tuesday, September 28, 2010

I forgot it was my spark-versary until I got a bunch of goodies and nice notes from other sparkers. I still don't know how they knew it was my spark=aversary and wonder how they knew....

I did not see anything until I added the spark award for three years today.
'Tis a mystery to me..

Some days I am easy to amaze!!!!

Another day when I would like to "just take it easy," but I found out yesterday I have to wait another month before calling in sick or taking time off without advance notice without getting in trouble at work....nose to grindstone..... emoticon

Haven't lost my talent for finding bargains!!!

Monday, September 27, 2010

I would Love, Love, Love to stay home from work today but I think I have reached the max for unplanned absences and would have to wait at least another week or I would be put on probation (those ER visits counted against me, etc etc).

On top of being sore from the arthritis walk, I still am not sleeping well. I have to wait until Oct 12th for my follow-up visit with the sleep specialist's PA (physician's assistant). I certainly hope getting some sleep will be as simple as taking a sleeping aid (pill) but I do have some obstruction of my airway when lying down and the doctor felt I had a small airway to start with. Just have to be a patient patient.....

I was feeling pretty well yesterday and went on a "mission" for my daughter. She called me yesterday and said I had to help her find a long green or blue dress covered with sequins (for less than $20) for her Halloween costume as a mermaid. I tried looking on line but anything like that was $100 and more. I went to 3 thrift stores and when I walked into the 3rd one there hanging right up front was the perfect dress....a royal blue skinny sequin covered beauty and it was the right size (small) and the right price ($6). I surprised myself. (I used to be very good at finding super bargains, so I guess I haven't lost my special talent.) emoticon

You did relly well. I found shopping at the thrift store gave me more ideas for costumes than looking at costume shop any day.

I love going to thrift shops, almost an addiction, I really don't need more clothes (well I might if I lose more for smaller sizes) I had one of those dresses years ago I wore at Halloween costume party as a vampy vampire

It is so hard to wait! Before I got my CPAP, I found that tipping my head back when lying down helped my throat to say open long enough for me to go to sleep. It might be worth a try. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Congratulations on finding the perfect dress at the perfect price! emoticon

I love finding bargains. While on vacation in Sydney Nova Scotia I found a yogurt maker in a thrift store. It was priced at $d.99 and was brand new--in the package. We are now making our own yorurt--much better flavor.
I hope you find a remedy that will get you a good nights sleep soon. emoticon emoticon

going on the arthritis walk in about an hour...

Saturday, September 25, 2010

emoticon Looking for an emoticon with squinty morning eyes like mine are this morning but didn't find one....

I always get up about 1-1/2' to 2 hours before I have to leave the house so I can become more alive. (now the M on my lap top is crapping out)......grrr.....

Had my 2 8 ounce cups of coffee which is my limit since my recent overdose and don't feel especially bright yet.....

I just hit a wrong combination of keystrokes and wiped out a paragraph I wrote....time to get movin'.............

I apparently over-exerted myself and I think it was due to some inclines (small hills, almost more like moguls)... I almost threw in the towel and asked for a lift back on the golf cart when I was at 3/4ths of a mile but toughed it out. By the end of the mile my back was extremely sore and later my quad where the tear occurred was really bugging me. Of course I kept going and after lunch I went shopping at Target. By the time I got out of there I was limping and had parked in a different spot than usual and couldn't find my car. A nice white-haired lady saw me having a hard time and helped me find my car. I was so far away from my car the alarm wouldn't work to help me locate the car. When I got home I had to take some pain medicine, put on an ice pack and take a 2 hour nap.....

I am feeling better but the leg is still quite sore.

Guess I don't know my limits.... emoticon
