Thursday and the knee is still sore from PT on Tuesday

I have taken it easy since Tuesday and I still am having increased pain in my knee since therapist pushed me with an increase of weight on leg press and increasing to higher step up and down. If I weren't going to therapy pool in a few minutes I would be tempted to try icing before work today. I think I will pack a small cooler with my ice pack to bring to work today and hope that will get me through the morning. I have therapy this afternoon and will definitely ask therapist about my increased pain. I think there is also an element of nerve pain and massage might help desensitize the area which is most painful.

Thank goodness I am only working half days so far as it is "not a piece of cake."

I had a fitful night for sleeping last night. PT was a bit over the top and had to be cut short due to severe pain. I thought my first day back to work went well until the last few minutes and was glad I was not scheduled to work a full day yet. Then after work I went to PT and was
trying exercises on the large step when I got severe pain in the back of my operated knee. I went home and iced and had to take it easy the rest of the evening.

Today I will back off on exercising today and hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

Our budget is a little strained but I think by avoiding going out to eat it is an affordable activity which will be good for both of us.

Tomorrow is my first half day back at work and I plan to swim in the therapy pool before work and in the afternoon I have PT. It is also the day hubby goes to AA so at this point I guess
Tuesday will be a day off from the gym since I am going to getting plenty of activity without it.

I have decided to faithfully write down and keep track of ALL the food I eat today and from this day forward. I will carry a small notebook to keep track while away from home.

    Teddy - you should check out the membership for 2 family members at your local YMCA. They usually run about $90 a month in the Twin Cities area. It might help you cut your cost down a bit.

    I find keeping track of all the food really helps. Once I am able to resume the gym, my DD is going to join with me. I figure any additional push is good!

Going to pool again today..

Surprisingly I am able to do a flutter kick and back stroke. I plan to spend some time in the pools at the gym today (indoor pool as it is raining today and whirlpool).

I think I am still having intestinal difficulties due to food poisoning one week ago and so will be calling the doctor on Tuesday to checked out. It does not feel urgent but a week seems a long time to be having difficulties. I was supposed to get a check up from my internist after knee surgery anyways so will "kill 2 birds with one stone."

I had cheerios with dried cranberries and soy milk and a bowl of boiled baby bokchoy. So I do have an appetite, just tummy ache, etc. Hopefully, it is just taking awhile to get over the ingestion of bad fruit. emoticon

    Fruit has acid in it and if it was bad then it may have eaten some of your stomach away although it wouldn't be serious. That maybe what's causing the upset stomach. I hope you find out better news at the Dr. Hope you have a happy 4th of July!!!!

I was enjoying the outdoor pool at my gym so much yesterday I lost track of time and probably was in about 1-1/2 hours which is way too much for a first sun exposure (and without sunblock). Today I will wear my swim shirt to cover up (it is called a rash guard) and will wear sunblock on my face. I will limit my outdoor time to 30 minutes today as it is sunny again. Will be going about 9:30 to avoid the midday sun. I also will spend some time in the whirlpool. emoticon
