More about netipots...

Tuesday, November 04, 2008

Someone (a little bird) told me that Walgreens has their brand of netipots for only 11.99 which is a great price. Just an FYI. I am convinced this is a great invention. First time you use it, it seems a little wierd but I really believe it is a useful (and my doctor said), inocuous or harmless bit of self therapy that may help you. I have been using it once a day now and it seems to be helping.

Netipot suggested by dr and guess what....

Friday, October 31, 2008

It helped and wasn't very hard to do. Found recipe on sparkpeople for mixture to use: 1 cup of warm tap water 1/4 tsp kosher or canning salt (no iodine) and 1/4 tsp baking soda. I saw the Oprah show six months ago or so and never tried it, even though I have sinus congestion quite often. Someone mentioned it felt like drowning when they did it, but I found it quite easy and not uncomfortable. I put the spark article as a favorite on my page in case someone else is interested in trying it. My doctor said she read that it is supposed to be helpful with sinus infections, even though she had never tried it. The pot was on sale at Bed, Bath and Beyond today and even had a $5 off coupon. So glad I tried it finally.

Suggestions needed for nonelectric humidifier for work

Thursday, October 30, 2008

We are not allowed to plug in anything at our work stations for fear of blowing circuit breakers. I think the dry dusty air is aggravating my sinus infection and wondered if anyone can think of a substitute for a humidifier that doesn't use electricity that I could use at work. Lately I have been pretty much chained to the computer at my desk and it must be drier than the area they moved me from a few weeks ago. Thanks for any suggestions. emoticon

It sounds like a reasonable idea to me...I asked my DH who is a computer expert whether it would hurt the computer...he says it probably would work better on a heat vent, but to give it a try...it shouldn't do anything to the computer.

Good Luck

Had to leave work early... can't even think...got chest x-ray and more medicine and I don't have pneumonia. Dr. said to lay low awhile and get better. I probably will stay home the rest of the week. Thanks for wishes for getting well. Back to bed with me now.
