Still sick and haven't exercised for 2 weeks now...

Tuesday, October 28, 2008

Dr. is putting me on another week of antibiotics and hopefully this sinus infection and bad cough will finally get cured. I have not felt well enough to exercise and am feeling down, depressed about that and because of that. I slept about 10-12 hours last night and hopefully that will help. I am going to work even though I am sick cause I have just started a new job and have missed 3 days of work in about 2 months and really need to keep attendance up since there have been layoffs and I don't want to give them any ammunition against me. I am feeling vulnerable on several fronts and am having difficulty staying positive. Hope I can make it through this week and get better soon. emoticon

Hi Teddy....we seem to be have gotten the same bug...my antibiotic is not working too well either...so i know it will probably require more antibiotics. I'll see you on the road to healing and pray for understanding in your work situation.

Sure hope you get to feeling better soon.
It is hard to stay motivated this time of year anyway and being sick on top of that is doubly hard. Don't fret about the exercise right now, just get your rest and drink plenty of water (they say it thins down the mucous which helps it to get gone faster) and maybe eat some nice chicken soup.

Hopefully you will be back in the "pink" really soon.

Guess I am sick and not just tired....

Tuesday, October 14, 2008

I am on antibiotics, inhaler and cough syrup from doctor. I went to work but left early today to see the doctor and might stay home tomorrow, too if I don't feel a lot better. I don't think I slept much last night cause of trouble breathing.

I am too, but haven't gone to the doctor...we'll have to get this stuff gone. You take care of yourself and drink lots of water...get lots of rest.

It is no fun to be tired and sick. I hope the antibiotics and inhaler help you get a better nights sleep and that you are feeling better soon.

How to get back my serenity

Sunday, October 12, 2008

I need to exercise and quit worrying about everything. I wore myself out today with worry and where did that get me...nowhere. I definitely will get outside and walk a minimum of 3 miles tomorrow and quit making excuses.

Exerpt of "Don't Worry, Be Happy" by Bobby McFerrin

There is this little song I wrote
I hope you learn it note for note
Like good little children
Don't worry, be happy
Listen to what I say
In your life expect some trouble
But when you worry
You make it double
Don't worry, be happy......
Don't worry don't do it, be happy
Put a smile on your face
Don't worry, it will soon past
Whatever it is
Don't worry, be happy

Worry is definitely one of those things that is not productive. I know - I seem to do it all the time. Hope you were able to get out and walk today. Take care!

    Hey There,

I know what worry can do to you and it is not good. I found myself using the worry as an excuse for not doing what I needed to do for me. I found that worry got me nowhere except fatter and angrier.
I found out that whether the problems resolved themselves or not, I was going to still be here, so I might as well be thinner and healthier in the process. The only thing in this life that you truly have control over is yourself. That is the only thing in this life that you can really change.
Just think what you can do for you and the rest will sort itself out. Maybe not exactly like you wanted it to, but somehow. Stay strong, and if you need someone to listen, I am here. I will be rooting for you.

Office Space.... they moved me after 30 days....

Friday, October 10, 2008

To a smaller cubicle. So small I am thinking I won't have room for a plant now. At least I still have a phone and the same phone number. I also am still on floor 2 of a 9 floor office complex. My daughter said to watch out if they move me to a closet in the basement. It is a little nerve wracking being the newest hire out of about 2000 employees with the layoff that occurred last week, but we are not unionized. Well, today is payday and I believe I am still on the payroll. With the economy the way it is and my husband quitting his job 2 weeks ago, I am grateful to have a job. emoticon

Going swimming 3 times a week means being organized....

Wednesday, October 08, 2008

So I got to the gym on Sunday, went to the locker room and opened my bag and my swim suit was not there. Ran out of time to swim... on Monday, I got to the gym and realized my purse was missing!!! Searched all over my car and called home and hubby couldn't find it. Got too worried to swim and when I got home (with a tension neckache and headache) there was my purse in plain sight (thank goodness), but I was too stressed out to drive back to the gym to swim (it is about 7 miles from my house). So I went to bed early and did get rested up. So on Tuesday, I went home after work and had a light dinner and drove to the gym. I went to an hour long water aerobics class and swam another 15 minutes after class.

I decided perhaps being unorganized goes along with being out of shape and overweight and am working on that starting yesterday.

My sister Jean has started water aerobics. I bet it's fun! And we're more apt to stick with something that's fun!Good luck with your new organizational skills!

I can identify with that...our life has been disorganized in the past few years...and my new way of doing things....does require a little better organization. Good for you getting the swimming done.
