Feeling better...praying for better health...

Wednesday, February 17, 2010

I am tired of being sick, so I am asking God to make me whole and well. I will do my part by getting plenty of sleep, eating small healthy portions of nutritious foods, drinking lots of water, doing 125 minutes of exercise a week (minimum) and read positive literature to help my atittude. emoticon

Tuesday, February 16, 2010

So I must be better!!! So glad I can eat without pain and got some real sleep last night. After I finish my breakfast tortilla and coffee I will be cutting out for the warm therapy pool. I haven't been there since Saturday morning and can feel my knees stiffening up. It will feel so good. emoticon emoticon

Even root canals are not pain free no matter what the dentist says. It will get better in time.

Tolerable and better...

Monday, February 15, 2010

I wish I didn't have to go to work today but unfortunately I do. Have to see dentist again to do the next stage of the root canal and crown. I joked to my friend that "I can't afford my teeth."

The pain is not gone completely and so I will still have to be careful about what I eat today.

Several people mentioned I was lucky I had a dentist who would see me on a Sunday and also lucky to have a friend to drive me (since my dentist is about 15 miles away).

He didpromise the pain should be gone right away after the novocaine wore off, but he was wrong. However, It is much better and I am counting on it to improve with each hour.

Perhaps being involved in work helped you focus on things other than the tooth ache. I don't have dental insurance so know what you mean "I can't afford my teeth." Many of my old fillings need reworking now... crowns are expensive. Oh, well, at least you and I have teeth.

You may some soreness but you should not have the same pain as the toothache before the root canal. If you do, let the dentist know ASAP.

ow, ow, ow...

Sunday, February 14, 2010

That's what my sister and I say to each other first thing when we call (when we are having problems). Then we laugh....(guess we're wierd that way). It does relieve the symptoms a bit to laugh (however, inappropriately).

Great way to celebrate Valentine's Day (with a root canal).

11:30 to meet with dentist (in about an hour)....Thank God....

A good friend is driving me cause I am pretty doped up on pain killers.

Just back from dentist. He took off the crown and started prep for root canal. He said when the novocaine wears off I should have NO PAIN!!!!!

Been there, done that, about 7 times. I tell my dentist to save the novacaine for someone who can really use it. It does not work for me at all. And I do mean it does not work, no matter how much he gives me. I would just as soon let him work and get it done. The last time it worked was 15 years ago.
Hope you are felling better tomorrow! Pain-free is the way to be!

My sister and I have what we call "organ recitals" where we call and discuss what's wrong with our various organs. It does help to share! I've had my share of root canals. They are no fun at all. Hope you are all better soon. Meanwhile, keeping laughing.

The best part of a root canal is that "it" feels so good after it is all over. You had one on Sunday. Mine was on a Labor day, also dentists day off. We're two lucky women. Glad you had a neighbor to take you, a dentist that would see you and the pain killers to help you through!

I know your pain, at least some of it. That is no way to celebrate Valentines Day! Or any other day. You are very lucky to have a Sunday dentist. In a few hours it will be all over and you can rest. emoticon

Making my dentist richer....

Sunday, February 14, 2010

Just had a bridge in front less than 2 weeks ago and now it appears I need a root canal for an abscssed tooth. Killer pain.... I luckily have pain killers and antibiotics to take until I can see him. If the pain becomes unbearable tomorrow he will see me then, otherwise I will see him on Monday first thing.

Used up all my dental benefits for the year and so this will be all "out of pocket."

I am doing better now after taking a double dose of Vicodin. Have to get some yogurt down so it doesn't tear up the stomach....

Guess it wasn't bruxism afterall, but the beginning of an abscess.

Hope the pain subsides after he works on the tooth.

I am going to try to get some sleep now, sleeping upright to keep it from throbbing....

Sorry you are going through that kind of pain physically and financially. I totally understand. We do not have dental...so I am getting ready to pay $2000 for my daughter to have her wisdom teeth cut out, ouch! emoticon

I feel for you. Had dreadful pain in one tooth and only saw the dentist when it became truly unbearable. Had to have root canal work (and pay for it - didn't have an NHS dentist at the time). I WAS painful but totally worth it. Had stopped eating on that side of my mouth - years later it STILL seems weird I can happily munch food that side again now!
Take care

So sorry to hear about your pain. And your benefits are used up too. Yikes. That sucks. I have a lot of work done on my mouth too. So far $10,000. When I'm finished it will be $17,000. Crazy huh. But my benefits are covering it all. Thank goodness. I'll pray that he sees you tomorrow.
