Not completely well, but returning to work anyhow..

Tuesday, February 02, 2010

I still have a bad cough but no fever and I really have to get back to work after my LOA. I am done with the Z-pack and tomorrow will be done with the prednisone. I am bringing my inhaler and lots of cough drops and kleenex. I have to work only 4 hours and half of that will be spent trying reorient myself to all the changes that came down the Pike while I was out for over a month. They changed some of our work flow and ways of accessing things on the computer. I am sure there is an update that will have to run for an hour or so before I can even log on. Take out a 15 minute break and one bathroom break and doesn't leave a whole lot of time to work.

I know it will be okay. Have to get that shoulder to the wheel.... emoticon emoticon emoticon

Maybe you should touch base with your doctor if you still have a bad cough.

Good luck going back to work. I had to retire when I got sick and I really miss it.
Enjoy it.

Funny thing about work-it's always there no matter now much time you take off. And updates-heavens! There are daily changes, weekly changes, changes period! About the time I know what I am doing, guess what? Another change!
Take care of yourself so you get better and stay that way! I'm glad it is not a full day for you.

Worn out from doing nothing....

Monday, February 01, 2010

This evening I feel bedraggled from worrying about everything. Haven't done much as far as exercise and haven't made much headway on my recent problems. I feel like I am treading water with no shore in sight. Guess it's some anxiety. I think a little walk on the treadmill would make me feel better. Tomorrow I won't have time to go swimming before work cause I have to take hubby to the dentist after work and there won't be time cause I have to put in 4 hours before I can leavf. Perhaps I can go to the evening water aerotibcs at the gym. I always feel so good after swimming. I'm making a promise to myself. Afterall, if I don't take care of myself, who will?

You have to take care of yourself. Keep up the swimming and water aerobics. You really seem to like them, and they are so good for your mental and physical health.

You are right. Self care is important. It will give you the energy you need to get through each day. If you cant go swimming tomorrow maybe you can do something else. emoticon

Exercise is the best way to release stress and you reap many other benefits at the same time! Take care of yourself and take time to relax!

Mom's Mail Order Service, may I help you?

Sunday, January 31, 2010

I seem to have a new subdivision of my Ebay enterprise, called Mom's Mail Order Service. My daughter moved to ****** and I have mailed out 5 packages in the past month. How can a mother say no"? Actually it makes me feel good, just wish the USPS costs were cheaper.

My daughter is keeping in touch and I don't know if she realizes how good that makes me feel ....but it does. I feel a connection with her even though she is so far away. I hope I can see her next summer. She and I are having a long distance relationship instead of her and her boyfriend. She sounds very happy and that makes me happy, too. emoticon

Knowing" is so much better than "noing". Being good friends with our grown children is such a pleasure. Can't happen during their formative years, but when they are grown, gone and become friends, it's a real joy. Good for you!

Saying NO to our children no matter how old seems to be one of the hardest things in life to do. Hmmm wonder if it was the same for my parents, as it sure didn't seem so back then.. NO was NO, and no more questions asked.. My daughter also just moved back to Arizona the last part of Dec. 2009

I am glad she is doing well. It is very good that the two of you are keeping in touch. We moms never seem to know that work "no", do we. I think it is something in our DNA. emoticon

cold is worse and have to go out for 4 Rxs...

Friday, January 29, 2010

Prednisone, Z-pak, cough syrup with codeine and inhaler. Geesh...Dr.
s office said if I get worse to go directly to the ER. I am wheezing and short of breath and they are afraid I might have pneumonia. I don't feel quite that sick yet but I know I will need to rest. Just got out of a steamy shower and that helped some and laid down for awhile until the pharmacy called. Getting some rest when I get back will help, for sure. emoticon emoticon

Take care of yourself even though you don't feel that bad! Make sure you take the prednisone and Z-pak! I have had 'walking' pneumonia and it can turn nasty very quickly.
