This damp weather has really brought out the arthritis and I see from my charting I have not exercised enough....

    There are times in the morning that my arthritis just doesn't want to let me move. I work thru it and feel so much better when I get R done. Keep moving because that helps with the stiffness.

    The very thought of winter coming makes my old bones hurt. It makes it extremely hard to talk myself into getting outside. That swimming especially if the pool is nice and heated sounds like an dream way to exercise. I am supposed to go check out a program at a gym not too far from here. They have a water aerobics class that sounds good. We just got to keep moving or else nothing is going to work right.

Halloween candy is going out the door....other food to food shelf..

We had only 5 trick or treaters and had enough goodies for 50 kids. I ate only 2 small twixt bars yesterday and I am taking the leftovers out to the car and locking them in the trunk of my car and bringing them to work so all the people I work with who like goodies can have them. I don't feel bad about "wasting" them as I got them essentially free for changing a prescription to Walgreens and got a $25 gift certificate and the candy was part of my purchase. So out it goes or I will be walking by the bowl and snitching one here and one there and before you know it, there will be 500 calories a day or more added to my "nutrition." I feel good about getting it out of the house. I wonder if there is something else in my cupboards that should go to a food shelf? emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

    we had very few trick or treaters also..but i dont have to worry about the leftover candy because i was over at my daughters house and when i went home the candy stayed there! i had a small handful of m and ms. and that was it..but it was so hard as i have a sweet tooth big as a walrus or bigger! thats a great idea with the candy..out the door in the trunk. just give someone else the keys! LOL

    We only had 3. I purchased candy that I don't like, but my daughter will eat 2 or 3 pieces each day. I did however buy 1 bag of Kisses w/almonds that is going to work with my husband tomorrow for everyone there to enjoy. I haven't had even one piece. I know if I eat just one, then it will be hopeless.... the ensuing binge isn't worth it.

To-do list...will it get done?

Lots of plans:
1. Go to farmer's market. (done)
2. Make donation at thrift store. (done)
3. Walk 20 minutes on treadmill.
4. Swim in the afternoon.
5. Clean bedroom.
6. Clean out fridge.
7. Clean front entryway for trick or treaters.(done)
8. Hand out treats.
9. Don't eat any treats. (The hardest of all.)

    When I make such lists, I love to post it right in front of me and then scratch out all that I have done. It is a satisfying feeling to see the list diminish in size. One thing at a time.

I have had clothes in my cupboard that needed repairing for years! I took out the most urgent and each day, I do one to three items. The pile is getting lower. I only have two or three items left now.

  I bought two large bags of individual pretzels so I can give out candy and pretzels. I like pretzels and can eat them and don't want to overeat them. Hope to not eat the candy I am giving the kids. I've done this before and it worked for me and the kids didn't mind getting pretzels. Works for me... Good luck with the treats.

off to work at 6:25 in exactly an hour.... gotta have breakfast, spark and walk on treadmill 20 minutes. I am sure I can do it....

I definitely am not staying up at midnight when I have to work tomorrow. I went to bed about 7:00 p.m. and woke up at midnight. I plan to sleep about 3 more hours and get up early and walk on treadmill 20-30 minutes before I go to work. I went swimming yesterday but my knees are both stiff and sore from lack of exercise. I could also walk up and down the stairs for 10 minutes after I loosen up on the treadmill.

I am so ready for the weekend. Yesterday I had a day off work but ran around and seemed to wear myself out. Went swimming, then to hand surgeon for a cortisone shot, then picked up lunch and brought it home. Went to dentist for overdue cleaning and re-set temporary bridge. Then picked up a truckful of boxes for daughter moving (donations that are still in truck). By the time I got home I plunked myself down in my chair and after an hour of dozing decided to go to bed. And here I am at midnight wondering why I am up....and in the morning I have to unload the truck and sort things for donation versus give to friends or keep items from my daughter who is moving...and I have to be on time for work at 7:00 to 3:30 and then take donations to thrift store.

Guess I better go back to bed and set the alarm for my usual 4:00....
