EXACT same weigh in 8 days and holding..

And the good news is I have not gained any weight in over a week. Weight still holding at 237.7. Watching calories and sodium and water intake. Saw on The Doctors show that 1 cup of cottage cheese is 800 mg of sodium and there it was on the label, exactly what they said (only the label said 400 mg for 1/2 cup serving). So I whipped it--threw out half of a large carton of cottage cheese and unless I find low sodium cottage cheese (the show said there is such a thing, which I have not seen) I will not buy cottage cheese again, in this lifetime.... I did check the sodium level on my no fat yogurt and that was only 150 mg for a full cup.

I really need to read all the labels more carefully when I am shopping so I don't have to waste food like that. I have read that cottage cheese can be rinsed and drained with a strainer but the residue does not sound very appetizing, does it? emoticon

Plateau continues...Did not weigh today...numerous reasons...

First of all I don't feel so hot...have eye infection and sinus headache plus numerous other aches.... The scale has been stuck at the exact same weight past 6 days and since I feel sick and somewhat "water logged" I figure it just is not a good idea. I might revert to every other day or less often weighing for awhile.

I guess this is a plateau and I have to keep watching my intake and not give up (not even thinking about it actually). Since I also am feeling unwell I just am going to make sure I stay within my calorie range and stay well hydrated. I probably will walk around the house for some exercise to keep my knees loosened up as they are achey in the somewhat damp weather we have been having lately.

If I feel better tomorrow I will either go swimming or go for a walk (well bundled up). If the weather is bad I will just walk slowly on the treadmill so my joints don't "gel".... emoticon

    hi! same thing happened to me. when i put all my food in for the day on the spark nutrition page the sodium total was out of site . i say to myself ..what! then going back and seeing the 400 cals for the cottage cheese..the lite kind too! so yeh im not buying that either. i heard an alternative is ricotta. i will look in to that. i dont know how many people have tried that but i have for lasagne but not for eating straight like cottage cheese! so i will try it and save some sodium! by way, dont feel bad cuz my wt is staying the same too!!

    So sorry you are not well.
Make some chicken soup with lots of veggies and drink plenty of water, also paracetamol is great for bring down a fever and soothing the aches and pains. great to keep the exercise up with the tready .Hope you are well soon, commiserations Susie and Bobby emoticon

    hi..sorry you arent feeling well. been there done that. u may not feel like eating much or keeping with the diet.just try and drink plenty of fluids and have some soup.just try and keep to the diet as best but the important thing is to get well! emoticon

How is this possible? I have stayed exactly at 237.7 lb for 6 days in a row and I think I am doing everything right. I have heard that sometimes when you increase your activity your body holds fluid to help repair muscles. And I have heard (OMG) that weight can increase during this stage, also. The goal is to lose weight but not at the expense of muscles so I will continue to exercise. I have done well this week, swimming almost 2 hours and walking just over an hour since Sunday. I know eventually I will show a loss on that monster scale (it is red and new and I keep wondering if it is wrong, so I reweighed myself with my bathrobe on and, yes, it is accurate)..... sigh emoticon

    I know how you feel, I have been maintianing my calories and gaining 2 lbs every week for a month now. I konw I have not exeercised as much becasue of the weather and my scheduale and mostly menopause is in full swing, so I am just going to mix things up a little and go back to doing WW points for a while. For some reason when I do WW I eat heathier

    Yes, I've gone longer than 6 days without showing a loss as well. It's absolutely BRUTAL!! Yes, it would seem the body decides when the weight iss going to come off. I've even gained a pound (sometimes two) in a particular week. Let me just go on record as saying .... HATED IT!!!

All in all though, I've hung in there ... maintaining my calorie range and waiting ... and waiting. It's working just fine, I just need a time machine so I can leap into the future ... you know ... or just wait.

My weight has stayed exactly the same for several days now...I am ready for a downward "spike" some time soon. Trying to stay within calorie goal and taking in enough water seems to be a problem. Will work on the water intake today...

    My weight has stayed the same for a month or more. I was just glad it didn't go back up. It is now going down for which I am thankful. Stay steady and think positive. Your weight will start to go down again.

    Everyone's body is different. I know that there are times I'm doing everything right and my body will hold onto the weight for 2-3 weeks, particularly if I've increased my strength training. That's why I only weigh myself once a week and take measurements. I've noticed that when the weight loss isn't showing on the scale is exactly the time that I start seeing it in my waistband.

Hang in there. Keep following what you know is the right path and you'll get there. We all will if we just stick with it!

Shiratake noodles...like 'em but I like tofu, too....

Maybe you have to like tofu (a bland soy product very high in protein) but I do like shiratake noodles which I finally found at a local Japanese/Korean grocery store. A large serving of 8 ounces is only 40 (CORRECTED!!!) calories and "reminds" me of noodles but, of course, not exactly the same as they are not made with starchy ingredients like wheat or rice flour.

I am cooking some for breakfast and the rest of the package is going into my lunch. One thing nice is that they are low in sodium, only 15 mg in a 4-oz serving.

I was going to buy them on line but the shipping makes them ridiculously expensive, so I am glad to have found them. The trick is to find a Japanese or Korean grocery store and those are far and few between in Minnesooota, the land of Swedes and Norwegians (mostly), but I am neither.... emoticon

    So glad you found your "specialty" shop. I know a couple that used to drive to Chicago to get real Mexican cheese. They could not find it anywhere in MN.

    What are the shiratake noodles made of??? I think I would like to try them..I don't eat a lot of pasta because they are not good for you but I would like to try these....
