City citation regarding weeds...

Friday, June 29, 2012

Last Sunday my husband's grandson worked 4 hours mowing an whacking weeds and is coming back tomorrow (Saturday). Yesterday in the mail we received a notice from the city regarding the weeds that were not whacked yet and given 10 days to get it done. Apparently one of our neighbors was watching and thought we were done cleaning up the yard and so I am not paranoid but they are "watching us." I am surprised they did not report us sooner as they are Chem Lawn people in our neighborhood.

If it is not done in 10 days the city will do the job for $80 an hour. Isn't that special?

I feel for you. We went through that ourselves. We received a notice two days after we buried our niece's daughter. They hit us on things that have been there for a long time. Our grass was long but our neighbors grass was almost as high as their fence. I don't see how 1/2 " higher than freshly cut is "too high". We'd had a tree cut down years ago and have been working on trying to cut it up for firepit wood. They got us on that too but it's been down for 5 years! Fun Fun. Guess everyone in this economy needs to make a buck and so the villages are cracking down to bring in more revenue.

Hope everything works out!

I know how hard it is to get out there and get things taken care of, I try to get out every morning and weed a bit, and water my garden and flowers, we pretty much have given up on a lawn, because, the water bill went sky high, more than we figure we can afford, so, the yard only gets a little water about 1 time a week, I do know about cities that do this, I am sure I live in one myself, so just do the best you can

Well, today on TV was a house that was reported because it had too many cats. They 'owned up' to having 45 cats! But the house had 4 feet of stuff an d garbage that seemed like the floor! How come no one reported THEM before this! There were in fact 2 sets of new born kittens that the owner did not know about!

So... I went in and cleaned my kitchen! I have been sick for 2 weeks and the kitchen got pretty bad. NOT THAT BAD! I got a little nervous that my husband's health aide would say something about my place. I felt a little better today and could clean the kitchen and take out all the garbages from any room. I think I am safe!

Glad you can get the yard cleaned up. It is hard to get those things accomplished !

That is why you will have it done sooner-just to prove
that the neighbors aren't "watching" as closely as they
think. Have a great weekend! HUGS!

WOW, great that you have a Grandson who will work like that. Love it.
I'm SURE we have such an ordinance here in our city as well. Helps not to have "eyesore" property as they call it here. emoticon

In six months, releasing five pounds a month, gets you down 30#. I've read "WHY WE GET FAT AND WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT " by Gary Taubes' and he says it is the sugars/starches that spike our INSULIN and thus the stomach pumps out the hunger hormone gherlin. So, it pays to avoid those cookies, etc. So many of the foods we buy are full of hidden sugars/starches.

that is great news, it took me about 12 months to lose 17, and then about 8 months to put 10 of them back on, but this time, I am going to maintain.

Found a handyman to mow, etc..

Sunday, June 24, 2012

It is my husband's grandson (he is about 32 and unemployed). I can finally quit harassing my husband about what a poor job of mowing he has been doing.

I bought a high-powered brush cutter which I am afraid to use and I am afraid to let hubby use, but grandson has plenty of experience and lots of common sense so everything was copestetic///..

The yard looks great and he was happy to earn some money. emoticon

Great job!! If you were willing to lend him the equipment maybe he could start his own company.
the biggest issue is the willingness to work.

Slept better last night...

Thursday, June 21, 2012

Dr gave me some cough syrup that helped me sleep last night...finally. It was nice to wake up only once during the night for a change. She said if I still have this cough in another week she would put me on antibiotics just in case it is not a virus.

Just getting my sleep should help me get over this I would think.

Teddy sorry to hear things aren't going well. While we were on vacation last week, one of the girls was going through the same thing. Felt so bad for her. She couldn't really enjoy herself. Hope now that things are getting better.

I read the cough blog too. Mom has had a cough for about a year and no one has done any thing about it. it is a little like a smokers cough.

I am glad you got some sleep last night and hope you can avoid needing antibiotics.

I might have a project brewing on the team page.
