My food sensitivities...

All nine of them are mild sensitivities but the dietitian suggested going gluten free, soy free, egg free, milk free and peanut free for 2 months and then reintroduce those foods 1 at a time. Seems like a lot of messing around but am willing to try it in case it makes me feel better in general. With fibromyalgai I have generalized achiness almost every day so it that even improved somewhat I would be willing to give up certain foods.

Apparently eating those foods could be causing inflammation which can contribute to my generalized unwell feelings. Sometimes I feel just fine and that may coincide with not eating those foods I am sensitive to.

I am getting nervous about returning to work next week as I am quite spoiled with my sleep schedule. I have been staying up later watching t.v. and sleeping in to catch up. I need to get to bed and turn on music with a timer instead of watching those shows until midnight. Today I woke up with my alarm at 6:00 and went back to sleep until 10:30. If I get some walking in today perhaps I will feel more relaxed by the time I should be sleeping. I won't be able to roll over and go back to sleep next Wednesday when I need to get up at 5:00 a.m.

I paid $20 for a container of brown rice protein..somehow misplaced it and found that I had soe of that already....

It seems the story of my life lately is losing and finding (thank goodness) things I need...the only thing I found a bit late (after I applied for a new one) was my driver's license which cost $17.

I misplaced several medications and did find those after 2 days.

Now my computer says I need to deal with a trojan ....what the ****?

find what I was looking for too late. You are not alone.

Brown rice protein!!! A bit pricey but I will be glad to get some protein in my breakfast drink. Tomorrow morning I have to set my alarm as my meeting wtih the dietitian is at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow. It will be interesting to see what her recommendations are.

Every time I look at the list of foods that I have intolerance to I keep thinking...what is left to eat besides vegetables and fruit? Good thing I like vegetables and fruit.....

Lost 0.9 of a lb...since yesterday...

So far, so good. Have cut out wheat. I have not been tested for gluten so I have been eating organic oatmeal 2 days in a row but will switch to something else tomorrow.

I am not used to the daylight savings time yet and slept until 10:00 today even though I was in bed by 10:00 p.m. last night. I think 12 hours of sleep may be a bit excessive especially since I have back spasms this morning after such a long time in bed.

Today I am going to try the whirlpool and slosh around in the swimmnig pool today (for sure I will float to relax my spasmed back). I can also go in the steam room for about 5 minutes but do not feel like going in the sauna (not my favorite room at the gym).

My incision is healing nicely and I will have a check up at the surgeon's office next week.

We are having unseasonably warm weather and I plan to go around the block again at a leisurely pace (it is 0.5 mile).

What in the world can I eat for protein besides fish and chicken?

My food allergen test showed allergy to eggs, cow's milk, soy, peanut and wheat (plus 4 more) and I am wondering what to put in my green smoothies for protein?

I met someone at the gym yesterday who said her sister had similar food sensitivities to many of the same things as me but not peanuts. I am grateful I am not sensitive to tree nuts so that could be one source of protein and milk substitute (almond milk) but this is new to me. I am hoping by avoiding the 9 foods (see previous blog) my arthritis and fibromyalgia will improve.

I am going to see the dietician at the gym where I ordered the blood test from on Tuesday and after that I might see a naturopath at a clinic at the hospital where I work. It is possible they might order more allergy testing. I know from years ago when I was in college I was tested as allergic to cottonseed oil (found in restaurant olive oils sometimes as it is cheaper than olive oil) and possibly have a reaction to regular beef products (not chemical free).

It is a bit overwhelming as I am finding out there a lot of foods I shouldn't eat that I have enjoyed in the past. I am willing to give them up and know just a few that will definitely help me with my weight loss problem.

I was surprised onions were on my list and they were a food not allowed on a weight loss program that worked for me about 5 years ago. (Since onions are on the list of the 25 most common food allergens perhaps that is why they weren't allowed on that plan, also pork.)
I could look at that list of allowed foods again and since I did lose weight on that plan I could try it on my own without paying for it again. Cow's milk products were another item not allowed on that plan. Hmmm...perhaps I am onto something here.
