Finishing 2nd week back to work... doing greatFriday, August 07, 2009
I am making great plans and actually swam 2 times this week before work. I plan to go to the warm therapy pool 2 times a week until the end of the month. I have also decided to rejoin the health club at work which costs only $6 per week and the fee comes right out of my paycheck. I really wanted to rejoin LifeTime Fitness but that would be $85 a month for the club nearest my home, so have decided against that. The main difference is the availability of the swimming pools, at work there are only limited hours 4 days a week and so it is not very convenient and when I return to my regular work schedule I will only be able to use that pool 2 days a week 1-1/2 hours AFTER work so I will not get home from work until after 6:30, being gone from home 12 hours. There are so many machines available and the leg press is one I need for rehabbing my knee after surgery and the hours are 24/7 and so I could go before work or after work to exercise. Since I have a treadmill at home I can concentrate on the other machines which are not usually that busy. Right now I need to get ready for work and am moving a little slowly and don't want to be late...bye for now. ![]()

Teddy, So happy to hear about your progress and getting to go swimming! Missing you on your post! Hope to hear from you again soon. Love, Janice Report Inappropriate Comment |

I walked on treadmill for 20 minutes before work on Friday and it helped so much with the pain and stiffness I had the other days this week. I also can start work a half hour late 2 days a week to accommodate going to therapy pool before work and I am sure that will even more helpful with the pain and discomfort. I will do that for about a month. At that time I will be going to work full time (8 hours a day). I am anxious to start getting a full pay check again. I am short about $300 a week from my regular take home because of disability payments. It's amazing how we get used to having a certain amount of money and then suddenly getting a reduction and realizing that a lot of things we take for granted are only luxuries and not necessities. I am grateful to have a job and not trying to live on unemployment or less like a few people I know who have lost their jobs.

Hi Teddy! Thank you for the nice comment you left on my blog. I found it interesting that you mentioned addiction. That has always been a fear of mine. I currently only take a pain pill and a muscle relaxer at night to try to get comfortable enough to sleep. I have notice the pain is much better. I go back to work next Wed. I am both looking forward to it and apprehensive. I need the money as well as the social action but am afraid it may be to soon and the pain will get worse. Good luck to you and I hope things continue to improve for you. Report Inappropriate Comment |
