Tuesday and back to no restrictions at work now...

Tuesday, November 22, 2011

I have my usual 10-lb lifting restricton and can stuff envelopes 2 hours in morning and 2 in the afternoon.

I can hardly wait..... it is easy work but don't really want to do this 4 hours a day but am willing to do it as I like the paycheck.... emoticon

And then the scale went up instead of down when I reset it...

Friday, November 18, 2011

That happened this morning. It read 237.7 which it was yesterday so I reset it to get a correct reading which actually was up from that. I guess my resetting the scale can go either way. It usually is a downward change so I was a bit disappointed. Perhaps eating out twice in one day has something to do with that. emoticon

It's probably just water retention. A lot of restaurant meals are salty.

2 blogs in 1 day?

Sunday, November 06, 2011

So I thought it was weird that my weight was exactly the same today as yesterday...and then I remembered my secret of success regarding how those digital scales play tricks on us and say the exact same weight until there is a change of about 2 lb or so.

I then reset my scale my leaning on a shelf (so my weight was 20 lb less than 1st weigh in today) and then reweighed myself and was pleasantly surprised that I had lost 1 lb since yesterday!!!

Oh, you tricky digital scales and your idiosyncracies can make me feel like a non-loser~~~~!

NOW I AM HAPPY!!! emoticon

I used to hate my old scale because it would vary +-4 lbs. just by moving it a few inches. I never really knew how much I weighed. Now I have one endorsed by Weight Watchers and it's great.

Congratulations on tricking yours! And on your loss! emoticon

David Letterman made a good point about daylight savings time...

Sunday, November 06, 2011

He said we might get an extra hour in the fall but we use it up resetting and rehanging the clocks. As for Spring forward we just plain lose an hour plus all that clock=setting time.

I heard that Benjamin Franklin first proposed daylight savings time in order to save candles in France (where he was living at the time).

Several people mentioned to me when they heard the factoid about Ben Franklin that they wished the idea had stayed in France. (Daylight savings time started in this country in 1918 during World War I to conserve fuel.)

Anyhow, Benjamin Franklin also proposed the national bird should be the Turkey instead of the soaring Eagle.

The two time changes only seems to mess up my sleeping schedule, can't say I enjoy it.

I just wonder how Standard time can be standard when we only use it for 15 weeks out of 52?
