What did I do to get this backache?

Monday, October 24, 2011

I have no idea. But when I woke up this morning I wanted to lie down again and get some more sleep. I did get 8 hours but lately my body has been wanting 10, 11 and sometimes 12 hours I have a follow-up appointment with the neurologist I saw 1 time back in January of this year and it may be related to one of th prescriptions he prescribed (or not). Hopefully, I can go off 1 or 2 of these medicines.

Today I have my follow-up with the hand surgeon and most likely will be released back to work full time. I plan to ask him about the crazy-big arm splints the physical therapist supplied me with. I actually feel my hands at times hurt more because of these contraptions. I have to remember to bring them with. My appointment is in about 2 hours so have to keep moving.....

Hope everyone has a great day!!!

My back hurts lot anyway, from surgery that didn't
fix all. However, if I lie down very much, my back
aches like a toothache, or if rain is in the forecast.
Hope your appointment goes well and that your
back pain eases off.

Thursday is garbage day....

Thursday, October 20, 2011

Gotta leave on time so I can put the garbage out before leaving for work so cannot blog a long one.

I have been late for work twice last week (traffic problems) and so I have been barely making it to work on time this week and need to leave in plenty of time in case of bad traffic again.

Next week I will be back to working full time and still am not up to par.....I slept about 12 hours last night so you know I didn't get anything done as far as paperwork or housework. Tonight I will go to gym after work and get some pool exercise so I won't feel so decrepit.

It definitely takes quite a while to feel up to par from having surgery. I think you are doing a great job. Just take it easy on yourself for a while...your strength and energy will return.
Hugs,
Helen

Amazing how much surgery can wear one out for quite a long time after surgery and recovery has started.

What do corn nuts and gummy bears have in common?

Wednesday, October 19, 2011

They both are damaging to fillings and/or teeth....

My hubby lost a filling while eating a gummy bear....
Hard to believe...

I knew corn nuts were culprits in broken teeth but the gummy bears are a new one on me. The day before this happened someone at work said they lost a filling eating a gummy bear and I thought it was a stale one...but hubby's were fresh...

So BEWARE OF GUMMY BEARS!!!!

Thanks for the warning! Since my granddaughters left some gummy bears at my house, I have become addicted to them for my evening snack. On another note, several years ago, I did some dental damage while eating a hard pretzel! They were fresh too!

Another Monday.....

Monday, October 17, 2011

Tomorrow will be my third Tuesday back to work half time. Next Tuesday I will see the surgeon and will probably get clearance to return to work full time.

It is hard to come back after a 3-week LOA but I am doing it. My internal clock is still not used to getting up at 5:00 a.m. even though I have been going to bed by 9 at night.

I got my new swim gloves and that is helping when I am swimming for my usual half hour sessions. I have been going about 3 times per week and next week will bump it up to 4 or 5 times. I need to get in 12 visits to the gym before the end of the month for my $40 savings on our family membership (hubby and me).

I do like the 2 hour limit on stuffing envelopes and might ask to extend that part of my work restrictions for another 2 weeks or so. Last Friday my hands started hurting from thatjob duty after only 1 hour.

Have a great week everyone!!! emoticon
