Up and at 'em on a Monday morning....

Monday, May 02, 2011

Another week begins. Hope things go better today than over the weekend. My weight loss has been stupendous but other issues have reared their ugly heads and some of these are quite difficult to deal with. I am trying not to get depressed over these things and need to have a positive attitude to get me through.

Sleep last night was a bit fitful but after I have my coffee (yes, it's ready!!!!) I will be more awake.

Hope everyone's week is great!!!

Appraisal was not what I expected.....but am optimistic still...

Sunday, May 01, 2011

We are not under water as the saying goes with our value vs mortgage balance, but I do not like the scenarios cited by the real estate agent. I plan to fix a few major problems and find another agent, but probably will end up selling myself as I did with my previous house. At that time we saved about 10,000 in commission on a $150,000 sale. So I definitely know what to do to get this done myself.

At this point I am getting estimates on repairs that definitely need to be done, and some small amount of updating of fixtures and kitchen flooring and painting of at least one room and two ceilings. By the time we will be ready to get the house on the market we will have gotten rid of our "extra" stuff we can't possibly fit into a small place (probably an apartment) and sold anything we can get a decent price for (or donate for tax deduction). I have watched a lot of staging for selling t.v. shows and have a pretty good idea of things people are looking for when coming to a house for sale.

I am hopeful that the market will be better in 6 months so we can get a better price than quoted to me yesterday. We could wait it out longer but I would prefer to have lower monthly expenses but am not feeling desperate...and don't plan to anytime in the future. emoticon

I will come out of this with bells on!!!

P.S. I lost another 3+ lb overnight..... I am faithfully following the Weight Watchers points and am not having difficulty with it. I also have not eaten any ice cream (one of my downfalls) for over a week). emoticon

Overall 5.4 lb weight loss in 1 week at WW!!!

Saturday, April 30, 2011

I am not surprised after having lost more than 5 lb this week, I gained 1 lb as of this morning.

I was hoping to show a good 5 lb loss at my second Weight Watchers meeting but have forgotten about having the wear clothes at the meeting weigh-in!!! Where did those silk pants go? I need you now....I have noticed, though, that my Spark People weight has gone down and that is the one I will believe.

If I wear the same clothes I wore last week (including my bandages for my legs that weigh 1.5 lb) I should have an accurate assessment of how much I have lost in my first WW week. I am planning on not eating breakfast before I go to the 6:30 meeting...Gotta run!!!

Back from the meeting and weigh-in showed 5.4 lb weight loss in my first week!!! I am so pumped....

Just proves one thing: Tracking works for me...points or calories or whatever....

Obviously you're doing something really right!

Funny about looking for your silk pants. I always do that stuff before going to the doctor! Congratulations. emoticon

Weight down another lb...

Friday, April 29, 2011

I am on my weigh ( emoticon) down. I am so pleased and am aware that at first this could be mostly fluid but even so that is a step in the right direction. In 6 days I am down a total of about 7 lb and am am very encouraged. I have been faithfully tracking EVERYTHING I am eating and have had no lapses. (This has been the only way I have lost weight in the past and know that that is what I have to do, like it or not.)

I am feeling optimistic and am actually enjoying the tracking (even though it is a little hard to focus on the weight watchers page for that as my magnifier does not seem to be working for that). At first I thought I would track on both SP and WW but have decided that is way too much tracking, even though I would like to know what the nutrition values are, especially the sodium. However, I have had so much practice checking the sodium levels of foods that I am aware of the foods I need to avoid.

The lymphedema therapist said she could see a difference in the puffiness all over and so I don't feel so silly reporting that I actually feel that my clothes are a little looser. My ankles have shown quite a bit of improvement in only 2 weeks of bandaging and I am "getting the wrinkles out" with the procedure. So glad it is Friday and tomorrow I am going to my weekly WW meeting and in the afternoon a real estate agent is coming to give us a market evaluation.

I am feeling a bit more rested and look forward to swimming at the gym this evening after work. emoticon

Isn't it amazing how food tracking can be almost enjoyable? I find that it's almost like a contest, which is great for competitive people like me. With your progress, you're obviously doing what it takes to win the contest against the scale. Impressive job!

Thursday early schedule in order to go to lymphedema clinic...

Thursday, April 28, 2011

Alarm went off at 4:00 a.m. A bit restless during the night but am finally awake (an hour after the alarm went off...had my coffee)...

Get to work 6 to 1 today so will have about 1.5 hours of PTO to accommodate for clinic visit. My supervisor has been good about being flexible for medical appts. Starting next week it will be twice a week working 6 to 2:30 for at least a month (reg hours are 7 to 3:30)....

I really like working the earlier shift better as the traffic is much lighter and I can get to the gym earlier...and tonight at 7:00 p.m. is The Big Bang Theory (my favorite t.v. show).... gets me snickering a lot.

Daughter was out of town for a week and I have gotten an email that she is okay but no mention of her knee. emoticon

Well, off to work. Things have been going a bit better with one of my "duties" that I hadn't done for over 3 months and almost forgot how to do..... emoticon

Weight today is same as yesterday which is good news....
