It was fun to sleep in this a.m.....

Saturday, February 19, 2011

I should have taken my early a.m. meds when I woke up with the alarm (I forgot to turn it off for Saturday).

I fell asleep watching t.v. last night (in bed) without my CPAP machine on and woke up at 1:00 a.m. with the info-mercials....then got 7.5 hours of sleep with the CPAP on.

Today the right eye is the blurry one and am a bit headachy....Plan to take it easy this morning and go to the gym about 4:00 p.m. Tonight we are predicted to have another 10-inch snowfall (we had some really nice weather that melted most of what was on the ground and even can see patches of grass, so everyone is disappointed cause they were hoping spring had come early. emoticon

Love these long weekends that let me sleep in too! Glad you got your rest - it actually helps in the weight loss program.

sounds like you got some good sleep once you put the cpap on. I hope that day goes as planned and that you get your workout in, and that you don't get too much snow.

Right eye seems good, but left is blurry today....

Friday, February 18, 2011

It is a sign of ocular myasthenia gravis that the eye muscles "take turns" being weak so anyone who thinks this business is in my head, please shut up. My friend and my husband both say it is from stress (in my head). Perhaps I need to keep my ups and downs to myself. emoticon Perhaps they are causing me stress by criticizing.

So I can still drive as I have one perfect eye and one blurry eye still. The sensitivity to light is improved but not gone completely and I am still wearing a visor and sunglasses at work; My friends at work have quit referring to me as the bookie or card dealer and now call me Maxine. (I don't mind the teasing at all...really I don't...)

I think the problem is in your head too ---at least that is where I keep my eyes!!
unless you ask my wife-- that is a whole different story.

Sounds like you co-workers have a sense of humor. Sorry about the critical relatives. My husband is a critical Scorpio and I always remind myself when he is on one of his "rants" that "A CRITICAL PERSON HAS TO CRITICIZE BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT THEY DO."

I've taught my children not to criticize and belittle. It only tears down the other person. My two favorite sayings are "LOVE is a verb" and "LOVE is an attitude."

The paperwork for getting hand therapy still has not come through. I filed that on February 7th and here it is the 17th. Oh, bureaucracy!!!

Short blog due to needing to get to work on time...(have been "just" making it there this week)....

Hope everyone has a great day.

Blurry vision again in the right eye all day....

Wednesday, February 16, 2011

When I woke up this morning my right eye lid appeared a bit droopy and I had trouble seeing the signs on the highway again (but just with the right eye). It continued all day and it is now 10:00 p.m and is continuing. As long as I can see well with at least one of my eyes I will not panic. But I plan to take notes and if this continues for a week I will call the neurologist for an assessment and possible increase of medication or change in medication.

I am trying to take it in stride as it is possible I have ocular myasthenia gravis and symptoms typically change from day to day or even hour to hour.

Work is going pretty wellbut I am unable to read smallprint when trying to sort faxes and have to use a magnifier in addition to my reading glasses.

I had computer glasses made with dark tinting and now I think I need a lighter tint as it is hard to read since my eyes seem to be less sensitive to the light than they were.

I might invest in some of those flip up/down clip-on shades and stick them on my regular readers.

Never a dull moment!!!!!!!!!

emoticonI was "cross-eyed" as a child, so I have 20/200 vision in my left eye (legally blind) so I know how worrisome it is to deal with eye issues.

I wouldn't wait a week maybe a day as eyes can change rapidly. error on the side of caution.

If I work out 5 times a week like the Sports Illustrated cover girl ...will I look hot like her?

Tuesday, February 15, 2011

Probably not....But I would be healthier and probably happier....

I still have not gotten into the routine of doing my knee exercises daily as I should after 2 knee replacements.... Also, instead of losing weight since second replacement I have gained weight.

And then there are the Girl Scout cookies..... one year I just donated money instead of buying cookies but this year my excuse was "my husband likes cookies." (Who do I think I am kidding?)

It is definitely time to get in the groove again!!!! emoticon emoticon

P.S. I bought 2 boxes of thin mints (Girl Scout cookies) this morning and gave them out at work (2 per person) for a late Valentine's gift. Will bring home the leftovers to hubby. (Promise!!!)

Teddy, I do my knee exercises every morning before I get dressed. I've just made it part of a routine and have been doing it for years now. Start with a few and continue to add. You'll be surprised at how well you'll do.

Lipo-suction is what most of those cover girls have so exercise has little to do with it.
