Easy as pie, smooth as silk (soy milk?).....
Anyhoo, I have been up an hour already (since 4:30). I was a good girl and got to bed at 8:30....so got in 8 hours of sleep....
I was worried I was going to have to find a different job, perhaps outside of my present employer (I have been there almost 21 years) as I have had a lot of problems trying to do my job duties. When I started this job I was told I would be on the computer only 4 hours a day which I knew (and know) I could handle. However, for the past year or more I have been on the computer close to 7.5 hours a day which is literally 100% of my time. This week so far I have been doing other things and having some variety which is do-able and I am feeling less afraid of my future with the company. I have been given the job of faxing and sorting those faxes with the confirmations and filing them which gives me some time walking around and standing as opposed to being chained to my desk. I also am doing other sorting and mailing of forms to insurance companies in addition to some computer and scanning work which can be broken up with the other duties.
I am glad to still have a job and am surprised by the fast response I have gotten regarding my need to do other things than sit at the computer hour after hour. This surprises me as when I was a medical transcriptionist there was absolutely nothing else to do but sit there and transcribe all day. When I had restrictions on that job I had to be placed in the volunteer department greeting visitors and answering the phone but at my present location there are no jobs like that.
So I am happy with the way things are working out for me and hope they continue to go this way. I feel a lot less stressed. Today I am going to bring ice for my elbows so I can ice them as I was instructed to by physical therapy. This involves actually numbing the elbows with ice directly on the elbows until they are totally numb. I can do it before and after work and once in the middle of my work day at lunch time.
The dark glasses really did help with eye fatigue and light sensitivity so I am glad I purchased those... I got the America's Best $69.95 for 2 pair special but because I got dark glasses I had to add $45.00 for extra fees, but still was much better deal than my last prescription glasses I bought about a year ago. I also will be able to get money out of my medical reimbursement funds to pay myself back for those.
So it's Thursday already and I feel that going back to work is "a good thing."
