Back to work today...eye tomography this afternoon.

Monday, December 13, 2010

Yesterday when I fell and got all upset and hyperventilated....I realized that probably was not good for my blood pressure. I am feeling better today but a bit worn out feeling from too much excitement.

I will work 6 hours today and after work I have a tomographic exam of my eyes to see if macular degeneration is the wet or dry kind.

For now, that is enough excitement for me. Plan to drive to work this morning and will leave 15 minutes early to account for possible slippery roads. (I only have to drive 10 miles.)

Friday already????

Friday, December 10, 2010

As I am sparking, my 18-lb cat (who is hard to ignore) is sitting on the top edge of my recliner and swatting me in the head with his 2-lb tail....rather distracting...... emoticon He is an orange tabby who does plenty to amuse us....and is usually on the lookout for chances to get MORE FOOD.....

Today is my last day off from work as I have not had to work almost the past 2 weeks. I took 3 days of PTO and got 6 days off work for bereavement with my sister dying last week and my husband's sister dying this week. We will be going to the funeral tomorrow and unfortunately the weather is predicted to be very cold and possible 10 inches of snow tomorrow starting early in the day. I am planning on leaving an hour early to go only 20 miles but plan to see if there is a reasonable motel near the church so we can spend the night there tomorow night as I am concerned about getting stranded in a snowbank on the way home.

For now, getting safely to and from the funeral is my main concern....

I slept pretty well last night and am feeling ambitious regarding cleaning my house and doing laundry today.

Hope everyone has a great day and upcoming weekend!!! emoticon

I have been stranded in a snow bank in a Kansas snowstorm! You are wise to plan around it. I hope that your travel is uneventful and that the weather holds for you. I am so sorry about your recent losses. Have a great day!

Back home safe and sound...weather is still good...

Thursday, December 09, 2010

Driving home from the hospital this morning was uneventful as the snow that was predicted missed us. We are supposed to get snow on Saturday which is the day we are going to my husband's sister's funeral. Thank goodness it is only about 20 miles from our house. I plan to start out early so we don't have to worry about being late.

In addition to the snow it is supposed to be below zero Saturday and Sunday. Guess winter has arrived and we better just deal with it!!! LOL

Need to get oxygen level checked at hospital tonight...

Wednesday, December 08, 2010

I will be sleeping over in the hospital tonight for a wired up sleep study. I think there are about 25 wires to be connected to my head in addition to respiration belt around my chest, leg movement monitors, etc. It is amazing all the things that are monitored and in addition, this time I will be on a CPAP machine ( I think). I hope to be back home by 9 a.m. though the weather report is saying driving will be slippery in the morning so it might take a long time to get back home. It is only a 20 minute drive in good weather but one time in bad weather it took me 2 hours. Hope it isn't that difficult. I told hubby to keep his phone on tonight so I can call him if I need to. emoticon

It has got to be hard to sleep with all that stuff hooked up to you.

Hope the techs find your correct pressure quickly and that you get a good nights sleep with all the wires. I love my cpap. I hope you have as good experience with yours.

Come on over and check out the Sleep Apnea team. You can find the link to it on my Spark Page. We have several good resources posted.

Prayers for safe travel in the morning.

Three more days off for bereavement....really?

Wednesday, December 08, 2010

It is nice to have the rest of the week off for bereavement but the reason is not so nice....My husband's sister died a week after my sister died. My sister died after 10 years in assisted living. His sister died after approximately 10 years of Alzheimer's and had just been moved to a nursing home this past summer. The feeling of the families of both of these losses is a combination of loss, yet relief as they both had finally lost any quality of life and our sisters had suffered enough, so we feel God was good in calling our sisters home, though it leaves a hole in our families.

I appreciate all the supportive sparkers who have sent me condolences and comments on my multiple blogs of late. It has helped me to feel less alone...thanks so much!!! emoticon

Wow, the world does work in starnge ways sometimes. My mom died with Alzheimer's although not from it exactly. There is relief in the sense that once the quality of life it gone why suffer. I have asked that question many times.

Multiple losses by death in any family is extremely hard. Take the time to work thru the loss. You and your husband are fortunate that you have each other for comfort and each of you understands what the other is going thru.

God's blessing to you as you recover from your loss.

So many are being called home. As much as you will miss them, you are right in the fact that they now have release and quality back in their lives. The freedom from the earthly body can be a wonderful thing. Prayers for all of you are being said.

Hugs,
Wanda
