I better go to the farmer's market...last time is today. In Minnesota the growing season is definitely over, but we don't have any snow here yet (Mpls). ....thank goodness. Everyone is remembering the big "Halloween Blizzard" of 1991. I drove to work that day in my Toyota Corolla and made it (miracle of miracles) but I was the only person who showed up in my building and wished I had stayed home as I couldn't get my car out of the ramp for 2 days and could have been at home for those 2 days instead of sleeping on the floor at a friend's apartment. I believe we had about 2 feet of snow and Duluth, MN had 3 feet of snow....
Another week without my coworker, but she is scheduled to come back NEXT Monday...we will see.... Anyhow, there's plenty of work in our department and they are always thinking of ways to keep us out of trouble. As the nuns told us, "An idle mind is the devil's workshop."
My favorite TV show is on tonight: The Big Bang Theory.... It is one of my nights off from the gym cause it is on so early it just doesn't fit in the schedule. I do manage to get to the gym 5 days a week most weeks which is an accomplishment for me.
On Tuesday I made it to the water aerobics and feel that was good and found out my new water shoes and water gloves were worth the $25 I spent at swimoutlet.com. I have had great luck with everything I have bought there. Last year I got a deal on some closeout swimsuits (luckily in my size which is ???? LOL) and hopefully I will be wearing a smaller size soon.. They are Ocean brand and are chlorine resistant and have great style and so at $12 a piece I felt I really snagged a bargain and bought 4 of them. I keep looking to see if they have any more great bargains like that and did find the webbed gloves for $12 and they really gave my arms a work out and helped support my hands (I still have issues of carpal tunnel and trigger thumbs) and the new water shoes really cushioned my feet in the shallow end of the pool so I was able to do a few jumps (but couldn't keep up with the class in the shallows as usual, and just "did my own thing.")
Today the weather is looking less windy and hope to find no more trees have fallen in my neighborhood.
I heard a sound last night about midnight that sounded like a large tree falling and I even looked out my bedroom window and didn't see anything. Even when I went to my car this morning I didn't see anything. When I came home from work, a very tall pine tree had been torn out by the roots and fell on a neighbor's house but it did not appear to have damaged it....the tree was uprooted with a huge piece of dirt and it looked like it just tipped over onto the house across the street.
The wind has died down somewhat compared to last night and I hope when I go to bed shortly (8:00 p.m.) I get a decent night's sleep. Everyone at work was pretty tired today...I guess the wind did a number on a lot of people. Some people lost their power and quite a few traffic lights were out of order today, too.
One good thing, though, it's Thursday tomorrow and then Friday!!!!
There is a tree growing too close to my bedroom window and we are having violent winds starting yesterday. Last night (last report I heard) there were gusts up to 48 miles per hour. So there's this small tree growing too close to the house by one of my bedroom windows and I could have sworn it sounded like a squirrel crawling around and scratching inside the wall and this morning I went outside and thought a large tree had fallen on the house but it was just this tree scraping the window and side of the house.
Needles to say, I didn't sleep very well cause with every big gust of wind I was wide awake.....
Tonight before I go to bed I am going out there and cut off the branches that touch the house...hope I can eliminate at least most of the irritating noise.....
