Back to the Beginning

Monday, October 08, 2012

I've been trying to start over, get back on track. I haven't been having much luck with picking up where I left off. So I'm going back to the beginning...

Keeping Myself Accountable

Accountability, answerability, responsibility, blameworthiness...wait a minute that last word doesnít sound like the others! One of these things doesnít belong here; one of these things isnít the same. Iím responsible for my actions and Iím answerable to myself when it comes to exercise but instead of placing blame Iíd much rather gain understanding. Why when I know what needs to be done donít I do it? I asked myself just this the other night and it came to me...I was forgetting the frog, that cute little boiled frog! My daily habits are so ingrained in me that Iím going to have to reach deep down to pull that frog out of the tepid water. So for the next three weeks this will be my ongoing blog of accountability.

10/08/12 - 30 minute walk (with my dog) (tomorrow I will remember to wear my PED watch)

11/01/12 - I haven't been able to keep track here as planned but I did wear my PED watch and walked over 10,000 steps on most days. I'm going to continue with that plus ad workouts at Curves. Down 4 lbs in three weeks...not quite the preferable two pounds a week but I'm happy to be going in the direction of my goal.

Today's Quote

Tuesday, September 28, 2010

I've come down with an awful chest cold, so
thought this quote was appropriate.

Walking is man's best medicine.

It's about all I had the energy for and the fresh
air helped clear my sinus's. :o)

My scale went up a pound instead of down!!! My SparkStreaks haven't been updating since I reset them at the end of April??? I'm more active now than I have been for a long time, drinking my water and eating my fruits and veggies...ok, I occasionally go over my calorie count but not often, some days I'm way below...which I know is not good either. I guess I'll have to add more exercise and be more consistent with the calories I consume...here's hoping the scale starts to move!

If you're doing strength training, it may be that you're gaining muscle, which weighs more than fat. Sometimes if you pay attention to other indicators of progress, clothes (or even rings) fitting looser or growing longer, rings spinning around your fingers, losing inches, etc., fluctuation on the scale won't be so discouraging. Hang in there!

Sounds like you are doing good overall. One pound is frustrating but could easily be water weight or something like that. Good luck with your goals :)

You will get there! Vigilance! I know how frustrating that can be. Keep doing the right things and you will get results. I'm glad you are more active now, drinking your water and eating well! That's great progress! You are living the lifestyle and that is pretty important!

Hang in there! It can be so hard when you know you are doing the right things and the results aren't there right away. Keep it up and it WILL happen! Yes, aim for the healthy suggested calorie range and keep moving. You will get there! emoticon
