Happy Holidays!!

Thursday, December 24, 2009

I'm tracking ok so far. Started holidays last Friday and have been eating a lot more now that I am home. And a few too many drinks. Not sure if I should just excuse myself and enjoy the holidays or keep it on track so i don't hate myself later. Hope everyone is going well and sticks to their eating plans for the holiday season. Inspire me with your stories sparkfriends!

Progress at last!

Sunday, December 13, 2009

I am happy to report a 2 kilo loss over the past couple of weeks. I have dramatically reduced my intake of alcohol and am putting in the effort of preparing food to take to work which assists in me not grabbing unhealthy food from the canteen.
I have also started learning to jog which is something I've never done before but I am enjoying. Just starting with building up to 30 minutes doing 2 minutes running, 1 minute walking, then reduce the amount of walking. It seems a good progressive running program.

I had a bit of a slow week last week and didn't get any running in which i found i missed. I think that's a good sign! emoticon

Its also a good sign that my jeans are starting to fall down! haha

Wow thats fantastic! Well done at reducing your alcohol intake (this is what im gonna try starting today) and taking packed lunches. I find if i have food in my bag that keeps me from the vending machines too. Im impressed at how much you can jog already! Ive tried for ages and can't keep up 2mins running, 1walking for half an hour yet.

I'm back!

Thursday, June 04, 2009

After a long lay off from sparkpeople due to moving house i'm back and enjoying it and hoping to get back on board with a few different challenges and sparkteams.

The start of June marks the start of a 2 month weight loss drive for me. If i put a time frame on it it might make it bearable!

Yay! new week = new start

Sunday, March 22, 2009

Good morning everyone and thanks for your words of encouragement and the little goodies, they have meant a lot to me. I am looking forward to kicking goals one at a time this week to re-establish some momentum with my weight loss. I am pretty much back to my original starting point on this journey after a couple of weeks of being sick and sorry. 74kg's Grrrrr!

Regardless I have some plans in place. I will be at fitness training tonight and tomorrow night and sailing on wed night (though i don't know if that counts as exercise???). The other days of the week I am hoping to get in at least 30 mins of walking... I will also be back onto healthy eating this week. Have started off well this morning. But I will have to do some cooking tonight to prepare healthy meals for the week so that I don't snack on toasted sandwhiches... during the week when i feel hungry.

Now that its getting colder I am looking forward to some healthy soups and stews (especially irish stew! yummm! )

As a side bar to my weight loss I have started to keep a journal to help me stay inspired and on track. The weight loss is actually more of a contributing factor to my goal of regaining my self respect. I have spent too long letting things fall through the cracks and then getting mad at myself for it, so as with weight loss I will be making lists of things that I need to do and ticking those off one by one as well in the same way I will tick each meal and each daily exercise block off the list too!

Thanks for listening to my blather everyone!! and best of luck on your journeys!

Cheers!!

Short Blog Entry today

Tuesday, February 17, 2009

Just in case anybody out there is following my progress. I was very sick last week but am looking forward to starting up the exercise again this week and next week. I will probably ramp up from walking each day and then monday next week will be my first day back at some more intensive training. Or maybe on the weekend if I'm feeling energetic and healthy.

Hoping that I can see what I weigh somewhere this weekend. I will check my measurements first thing saturday morning though.

I hope that you are all doing well with your goals. Mine is not going as fast as I like because I am not working consistently or hard enough at them. I'm going to ramp up a lot next week though! Hold me to that statement everyone!! Good luck with your journey!
