Life got a little complicated

Yesterday and today, I didn't manage to fit in any exercise either day. The good news, however, is that I was actually disappointed when things came up and derailed my exercise plans. That's certainly a good sign.

I just have to figure a way to fit in exercise regardless of how busy life gets. I can't wait for things in my life to calm down so it will be easier to work out. This IS life.

I know that people who exercise in the AM have more success in sticking with their workouts. It just makes sense. Get it done before.....well, before a gazillion different things interfere.
But I'm starting a new job on Thursday, with a longer commute. Getting up at 5:45 to leave the house at 7:00 is going to be tough enough.

Yesterday's calories were 1469, 8 waters, 3 F&V
Today's calories were 1278, 8 waters, 3 F&V
It feels good that I'm lowering my calories and increasing my F&V.

Tomorrow's goals:
1600 calories max, 8 waters, 3 F&V, 20 min. cardio, 5 ST exercises.

    Hi Carol,

That is good to hear you say that you were disappointed not doing any exercise! WooHoo! It is hard to exercise in the morning when you have to get up so early. Is there any way you can take a walk during lunch? Or before dinner, maybe a 15 minute spark people workout? It does get hard but the results are worth it!

I went over my calories yesterday by 83 calories, but got in a good workout, and today I was under my total calories by 7 calories (hey at least it is under!) and did a decent workout today too.

I'm going to take your lead and do a blog every day. I have realized that since you have been keeping track - I have been more conscious of everything I am eating and doing and have been much more consistent.

mixed results today

Did pretty well today. Calories 1226 & 8 waters. I hadn't planned any exercise today, since I'm easing myself into it. I figured I'd give myself a midweek day off.

But I did plan to have 2 F&V, and never worked the 2nd one in. I didn't plan for it specifically and just thought I'd work it in somewhere, but I got busy and.....
Lesson learned. PLAN the specifics of my F&V.

So tomorrow's goals:
1600 calories (I know I've been staying well under my max, but I'm still dropping the official calorie limit gradually).
8 waters
3 F&V - banana with breakfast, broccoli & grape tomatoes with chicken pasta primavera for dinner
5 ST exercises

Can't believe it's Thursday already tomorrow. Going to check out my new classroom a little more after work tomorrow. It's going to be hard leaving my current Pre-K love bugs, but I'm getting excited about this new opportunity.

You are keeping me on track too! I decided it is time to stay within my calorie goals to loose the final amount of weight! This is the year it will happen! For you and me both right? I stayed below my calorie allotment again today! WooHoo!!!

I thought it would be real hard to leave your classroom. I was going to ask you but didn't want to make you feel worse. Can't wait to hear how your new job goes! All the best wishes in the world for you! Good luck on your goals for tomorrow. emoticon

    emoticon Just would like to say that I wish I could plan my day like some of you do..I will get that though..I have started with eating right, tracking food and now I started my exercises..

following through again

Made it through a second day of sticking with my goals. My calories were 1255, had my 8 waters (water is always pretty easy for me), and had my 2 F&V (not so easy). Even did the 5 dreaded ST exercises. emoticon

I appreciate those of you who've taken the time to post a comment - it does help a lot. You never know when someone will say the one thing that sticks with you, that makes a difference.
But even if nobody comments, just knowing that I stated things publicly is helping to motivate me to complete what I said I would.

Tomorrow: Calories 1650, 8 waters, 2 F&V.

I Followed Through

Well, I did what I said I'd do today:
calories below my max of 1650: 1429
8 waters
2 F&V
20 min. walk

I reminded myself every once in a while throughout the day that I was going for a walk after work. Knowing that I put it in a blog put pressure on me to follow through.

Tomorrow's goals:
calorie max 1650
8 waters 2 F&V
5 ST exercises

This will be tougher, since I hate ST. Again, public pressure should help.

As I mentioned, I was going to follow your lead! I did my usual 1 hour workout and I actually came in 39 calories under my quota of 1550! Yeah!! Thanks for giving me the intensive to stick to the plan!!!

I've learned to enjoy my ST by following some of Coach Nicole's ST videos. She somehow makes it more fun. Don't know if that would help you or not, yet it helps me!

Stating my Goals Publicly

I'm really having trouble sticking to what I say I'll do. So I'm hoping that if I put it out there and say what my goals are for tomorrow, I'll feel more committed to following through.

So, tomorrow:
Calorie limit 1650
waters 8
F&V 2
cardio 20 min.

I know it doesn't sound like much, but it's better than I've been doing lately. Even baby steps are still progress, right? emoticon

    Carol, I am so proud of you! You are so right. Making it public or in print makes you more accountable for what you say or think you will do. When it is just in your head and you become involved with other things you don't stick to your goals completely. It seems to work more effectively when you start with baby steps because then you could always add on or increase your goals!
