Tummy troubles

So yesterday I made it to work, but then just conked out - plus my tummy was giving me lots of trouble emoticon I ended up leaving at 9:30am, went home and took some Dramamine and went to sleep emoticon for a few hours. I didn't eat much, had some soup for lunch and crackers with apple juice for dinner. Needless to say, my weight's down a bit, and I still have little appetite. My tummy is still iffy today, but I can't afford to miss any more work. Hopefully when I get home I'll be able to do a little bit of Pilates, but probably no running - my left knee's bothering me a bit anyway, so probably will just rest up.

I had thought about doing the 5K run, but after being so sick in February/March I really didn't train for it. However I DID volunteer to run along with the kids on their 1-mile "fun run," and I just got my official safety-runner T-shirt (wish I had a picture!)! So I'll be running tonight for sure! emoticon emoticon (Can't be shown up by a bunch of kids now, can I??? emoticon)

    And I ran, I ran so far away...not really, I was on the treadmill Monday, but definitely put in 1 1/2 miles running. Unfortunately, today my ankle is a little sore, sure hope I can run tonight! Damn those heels, should have worn sneakers! emoticon

Reversing the damage

Well last weekend my older daughter told me she was cancelling the wedding, and that she and her fiancee were running off to Las Vegas to get married - and they DID!!! It was a stupid thing, but I got all depressed and ate everything in sight (that's how I treat depression - my bad!)!!! emoticon Yeah, I need to work on that. Anyway, I successfully gained back almost everything I've lost this year emoticon, so today I'm being honest and re-setting my weight tracker to reflect that. Also, starting today and for the next 2 weeks I'm doubling down on my diet and exercising, to try and reverse some of the damage from last weekend. For the next 2 weeks, I'm purging the junky comfort food from my diet - no cupcakes, no brownies, no yummy Starbucks coffees, etc. Instead, more fruits/veggies/whole grains, and logging that food in the SparkPeople nutrition counter. And back into running 3x week, and doing SOMETHING the other 4 days - elliptical, my new Bootcamp DVD, gardening, whatever, just MOVE!!! (Nothing on TV to watch this week anyway emoticon) This is in addition to the walking I do on my breaks at work - surely I can keep this up for 2 weeks! emoticon emoticon I will record this and keep everyone informed; this is my promise to ME!

The Promises you make to yourself are the most important promises to keep! emoticon

    I am a stress/emotional eater too! It's helped me to find something else to do instead. Lately it's go dig in the garden. Hang in there! You can do whatever you set your mind to.

    How am I doing? Not as well as I'd like - I stayed pretty strong until last Friday, when something upsetting (but ultimately not very important) happened at work, which seemed to give me an excuse to go off the deep end on the eating. Plus I got almost NO exercise over the weekend, and started with the coffee again Sunday. Yep, that emotional eating is a big problem for me. So today I'm re-assessing and just trying to be reasonable. emoticon And I AM going to run tonight!!! emoticon

This probably comes as no big surprise to anyone, but I seriously didn't know HOW many calories before today - how about 2500!?! Now, THAT'S just too many!

    I had the Devil's Food chocolate cupcake, and my hubby read the label, but that's what he told me. Probably one of those "more than one serving" labels that he multiplied out. Yeah, it's pretty insane, scratch those off my list!!!

    emoticonAccording to the Label and the Nutrition Tracker the Red Velvet Cupcake is "Only" 500 Calories. I always share it with my Son or Hubby.

Okay, I'm NOT starving myself, but I know I've GOT to get serious about my diet. So I'm back to logging my food intake, trying to stay between 1200 - 1550 calories. I logged yesterday and hit that target at 1509, and yes, I was HUNGRY! emoticon Just lets me know how much I've been overdoing the sweets & comfort food!

Btw, if you haven't seen the movie yet, I must say "The Hunger Games" is an excellent film - yes it's dark and disturbing, but the acting was excellent, especially Jennifer Lawrence. But Donald Sutherland was also good as the creepy President, and Woody Harrelson was perfect as the only person in the district to survive the Hunger Games - he played a broken-down drunk, which was really understandable given the situation. Yes it's violent, but not obsessively bloody. Children die, but the movie focuses more on the tragedy than cool fight scenes (although you kind of cheer when the knife-wielding "mean girl" gets it!). I read the 1st book and it was a hard read, but I REALLY enjoyed the movie - I just can't shut up about it! emoticon

    I've been reluctant to, since the 1st one was so dark. My daughter has read all 3, and cries every time - but I'm starting "Catching Fire" tonight. I can't wait for the next movie either!!! emoticon

    Congrats on getting back on track! It's definitely hard when you're logging... it really makes you realize what exactly you're eating (can be a BIG motivator!)

I AGREE WITH THE HUNGER GAMES! I read the first book and couldn't get enough of it... have you read the second and third books?? (DEFINITELY DO if you haven't!!)

I'm glad I read the book though before seeing the movie because I think the book filled in a lot of holes that the movie left out (like character names/roles). Can't wait for the next movie installments! :)
