Decided to join TOPS

I am very tired today. I know that sleep is incredibly important to weight loss! Tonight I get into bed by 8 pm!

I only had about 1100 calories again yesterday. I had a Ghirardelli and Snicker PB square at my marriage class. I got cramps after I ate the PB square, so I won't be eating those again. Eeek!

I have decided to sign up to TOPS on Monday nights. I am just too busy during my split shift to go to a meeting each week. Monday nights I never plan anything so it will fit in nicely.

I am looking forward to having some of my uncles Death By Chocolate this weekend though (it's a big family thing to butcher our deer together), then I can start fresh on Monday. But I am still working diligently at my goals -

- plan snacks
- 30 mn walk daily
- stop eating when full

PS - I made an accountability friend at TOPS the other night. It was nice to send a text back and forth yesterday!

Tried TOPS Last Night

I went to a local TOPS meeting last night. I enjoyed it. Ladies talked about their goals for the week and how they did and weighed in. The group lost a total of 12 pounds. I will go to a Wednesday morning meeting that is a little closer to home. If I like it, I'll attend that one.

Yesterday I logged my foods at Sparkpeople.com. And I didn't go over 1100 calories. I could have, EASILY. I was hungry for dinner, but by lunch time I had already eaten over 1000 calories. The apple was good to hold me over. I also had a cup of tea with it, so I was fine.

Today will be a good food day. Lunch is homemade jelly-bread, 1 slice. 1 apple. 1 cup bugles. Hibiscus tea. :) Dinner will be venison steak, baked potato in the microwave, and wax beans from a can. No desserts. Only fruit and tea.

No Overeating Today

Today I did better. Well, I was more aware of what I was eating than on other days. Okay, I felt better about the choices I made. :) I bought little dessert plates to use for portion control and I used that for chicken alfredo tonight. I still ate my piece of cake and a peanut butter cookie. But, I DID NOT overeat. That's my PLUS. But I did eat a lot more calories than I "should" have for weight loss. :) I also did a 30 minute program on the treadmill and I think I burned around 200 calories. I just need to keep at it. Make a plan and get into a daily food routine.

Still planning on attending a TOPS meeting on Wednesday morning.

    Good for you not overeating and great job on the treadmill. I walked 70 minutes today and boy did I want to quit. I ate more mac and cheese at lunch than I had planned but I stopped before I ate it all and now I have lunch for tomorrow. Hang in there - you can do this!

Going to a TOPS meeting Wednesday

Good Morning Sparkies... :)

I have made a new decision about my health and weight loss program.
I have decided to check out a TOPS meeting in my area. Some ladies in my Al-anon last night suggested that I try TOPS out and I looked up the website and liked what I saw. Apparently it's only $26 per year. I can swing it!

I am so tired of the cycle:
_ scoop up determination to exercise and calorie count, on day one,
_ next day do what I want.

I see myself in the mirror and I absolutely feel saddened by what I see. I have gained 23 pounds since 2005. At the end of 2005 I had lost 120 pounds. I just can't get a grip on this by myself. I NEED to talk about it. Writing on a blog is nice, but I need more support. I admit this to myself How wonderful it would be to NOT have to drive somewhere to get support, but I always end up at the thought "I wish I could just talk to someone about this."

I know baby steps is a big part of change. But when I lost weight in 2004, I hit the gong as hard as I could. I biked 120 miles per week and ate only 1200 calories a day. It took me about a year to lose the weight. Maybe it's not "baby steps" after all. Maybe getting to a TOPS meeting will help me beat the gong hard again.

Today ...my goal this morning is to make snack baggies for good portions during my shopping day with my mother. It's all I can do right now.

    I am thinking along the same lines as you. I entered TOPS in to the search bar and came up with your post. I plan on attending a meeting Thursday.

  As a longtime member of TOPS I will tell you it is the best support group ever!
I lost 87 pounds 14 years ago with them and have kept it off, with their help. The dues are $28 a year, very affordable, but I would pay more. I will be a member for life!
I will look for your blog next week to see how things went.

I belong to 2 TOPS teams here on SP too. They are both great resources.
Please don't give up on yourself. We are here for you!!

A Few Short Lines Before Bed

Today I did okay. No sugar, other than sucanat. And no white flours.

Found out the dog had fleas so I had to treat 3 animals and clean the house. There's my exercise for the day. :) Thank GOD for wood flooring!

I'm exhausted now. Daylight savings so I lost an hour of sleep. And the dog woke me up periodically. I'm going to go read and put the dog beds into the wash with the bleach!

I'm feeling so good about how well I am doing with staying away from sugar!

THIS WORKS. WENT ON WEEKS CRUISE DID NOT GAIN A POUND.

my sister walks 15,000 steps a day at 63 years
old and has lost 105 pounds. she went from a size 24 to a size 10. all her health issues dropped off as the 105 pounds dropped off. took 16 months.

i gave up grain and sugary products and have lost 44 pounds at age 60. i went from a size 18 to a size 10 shorts and medium tops from a 1 or 2x. took 7 months.

use a salad plate as a dinner plate

use fruit for your sweet tooth cravings, an apple works great. helps with the chewing sensation.

fill your salad plate with half vegetables.

we are both still loosing weight until we reach our goal
