Bob's 2012 Bandwagon

Friday, January 06, 2012

Bob wants us to go back on our diet. He's all "it's my new years resolution" and stuff, which is fine. I'm doing it with him, mainly because we have a wedding coming up :-D

Congrats on the engagement, the SP name change, and the resolution!

I don't know that I have a super skinny chin, but I gain weight first in my hips (and lose it last there -- back when I was 16 I had pneumonia and dropped to 108 and I STILL had saddlebags!!!) and let me tell you, from a clothing standpoint it also has its downside. Like you, I often wonder how it would be to have a different body type. Our own can get so frustrating at times!

Hope to see you soon at one of the SP gatherings :)

Goodbye Angie. Hello Sweet Caroline!

Sunday, August 21, 2011

Bob and I have been riding our new (free!!!) bicycles around the neighborhood a lot since we picked them up Saturday morning. Oh, how I missed riding a bike! So I have to say goodbye to my SUV, Angie. But I'm excited about commuting on my bike and saving about $160 per month :-D
Oh, and I think I'll call my bike Caroline because when I ride her I keep humming "Sweet Caroline" by Neil Diamond. Hah!

  Dear Melissa and Bob,

I wanted to Thank you both for dedicating one of your videos to me in the past. I always enjoy watching your videos, although I must admit that I haven't had much time lately to do that.

I think that is SOOOOooooooooo cool that you got yourself some bikes, and FREE at that! Nice! I love the 'Sweet Caroline' part and the yellow 'glow-in-the-dark' pedals that are on Bob's bike. Your videos are really entertaining! I love the elements that you add: 1) Excellent voice quality, especially considering that you are outdoors!, 2) Fun element!...Bob passing by on the bicycle and blowing a kiss to you! :-) 3) Reality aspect (giving up Angie, but saving $ 160/month), 4) Enthusiasm from both of you! 5) Likability factor...Both of you are really easy to like!...Have you ever thought about contacting a show to get your own exercise segment? Seriously! What I enjoy is that you have fun doing whatever it is that you are doing.

I checked out your website ( nice and easy to maneuver around. I saw the bracelets, beautifully done. Do you make necklaces, too?

OK, well keep having fun...and making those videos. I always feel good after watching your videos! Thank you!

P.S. - CONGRATULATIONS on your 10-pound loss!

Keep Sparkin'!

Busy (Super Stressed) Bee

Sorry that I haven't vlogged in about a week. I miss it... like an addiction. Idea: I should replace my chocolate cravings with vlogging urges. Ah haha!

Bob and I have been going through some financial issues, so I've been trying to get my website up and running in order to make some money. I'll be turning in the tags to my car very soon and cancelling the insurance, so I need to raise about $100 for a bicycle. I'm hoping to vlog tomorrow so you can see the jewelry I make!

I hope everyone has been having a wonderful week! Take call all :)

P.S. My website is I have my jewelry priced pretty low in order to sell enough quantity to buy a bike. Here's the bicycle I'd love to buy but can't afford (The Kent Bayside @ Target):

Sorry about your financial issues :(. I too have learned to really cut back financially the past few months....and it can be tough at times. Keep your chin up and best of luck to you with the website and jewelry. You'll get that bike soon enough - I'm sure of it ;)

Money issues... bleah! Hate 'em. There's a reason I eat a ton of beans, and a good portion of it is that they're CHEAP.

Note: I hate(d) beans. Over forty years, I wouldn't let one pass my lips. Amazing how times change, LOL

Good luck on getting that bicycle! It looks great :)

Oh my goodness....yet again another great blog. You think you suck at golf...let me tell you that I can't even hit the ball off the tee. In the past when I tried to play (and that word is used very lightly) I ended up throwing the club out of anger~~~no I am not a golfer!! Glad you three had a wonderful time and enjoyed yourselves...after all that is what counts. Take care and have a great time today. Kelly

Tennis in the Rain

Tuesday, August 09, 2011

We played tennis for 50 mins today. Really enjoying this sport... a LOT! You forget you're working out, which is awe-some!!! We even went to the gym afterward for an extra strength workout. Too bad Mom was too sick to join us today. Love you, Mom!

Carbs aren't a bad thing long as you eating whole grains. Whole grain are best , not processed sugar and white flour are really bad for the body. Eating a diet with food closest to natural is healthier for your body.

It is essential for the body to eat grains because starch is what fuels all energy processes within all of our cells. The body breaks carbohydrates down into glucose, which breaks down into a product called adenosine triphosphate which is our cells' energy currency.

If you eat only protein and fat and fruits/veggies (which are essentially carbs but still need additional processing), you will still get the energy you need, but your body will need to go to extra lengths to convert it into ATP. It will need to go through alternate pathways to become glucose, and will create by-products which will put a strain on your kidneys.

Yea that pasta can be a bit high in calories, not to mention the goodies that was put on I am sure that with all the tennis "in the rain" today you corrected those sneaky calories and burned them right off. Hope that you have a wonderful evening....and hey the new sneakers are nice....yours and Bob's. Take care you two. Kelly
