Results of Week 1 Challenge

Monday, July 23, 2007

So here's an update on the first week of my challenge. I lost 1 single pound this week. But I really blew it yesterday. I had fried chicken for lunch and pizza for dinner. I went over my intake just by eating those two things. (Of course, I had to eat rolls and potatoes and gravy with my chicken!) So, after that I guess I should be happy to have lost the 1 pound. I did go to the gym. I didn't stay as long as I ususally do but I did about 30 minutes of weights and stretching and 15 of cardio. So hopefully that will undo some of the damage. And make this week a better week!!

This is my Challenge!!!

Tuesday, July 17, 2007

It's time for me to set a real goal!! I've decided to accept a challenge that has been made. I'm going to lose 50 pounds by January 1st!!! I think it's time that I re-evaluated my New Year's resolution that I made at the beginning of this year. My goal was to lose 50 pounds this year. However, I've lost track of that...like most of us do. Instead of losing, I've gained about 10 pounds. It's still not too late for me to lose 50 pounds, but I have to lose 10 more. So are there any takers? Let's get motivated together!!

Hello Tate60. I too need to lose 50 pounds by January 1, 2008. I'm 4'11" and am 55 years old and I don't feel a day over 35. But 50 pounds by January calcuates to at least 10 pounds per month. And, I might not be able to accomplish that much weight loss each month. So my goal will be 25 pounds at 5 pounds per month (if more comes off then that would be yet another God send.) I am starting walking with Teams in Training for the Nike Walkathone in San Francisco, October 21, 2007 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's. This will help me get in shape and also help me raise money to donate for the cause.

I would like to suggest for our first challenge that we don't eat pasta or rice after 6:00p.m. If we want pasta or rice or bread let's eat it for lunch. What does everyone think?

I finally joined a gym

Tuesday, July 17, 2007

Yeah so I joined Anytime Fitness. I joined last week and I didn't go until yesterday. I can honestly say that I feel GREAT!! I'm a little sore but that's expected. (I kind of like that feeling anyway!) So we will see how this accelerates my weighloss. I've been on SP for a month now and I've only lost 2 pounds. And in all actuality, I've probably gained those back because I didn't too great last week. I'm just afraid to step on the scale to find out the truth. So, yeah, I guess I'm starting from scratch. But at least I'm doing it right this time. I'm going to try to post in my blog every week so we will see how my progress is. Please, help me out!!! I need support!!!

Great job for joining a gym and even greater that you went!!!! Getting off track happens to the best of us. Just don't beat yourself up about it to where you lose all motivation. Baby steps are very important and you're doing great! :)

Take one day at a time and strive to do the best you can each day, it won't seem so overwhelming that way :) You can do it, yes all things are possible and just keep an eye on where you want to be and that will help keep you going! Good luck :)

Good for you!! you have to start somewhere!! I have thought of doing that myself but recently have found taking my dog for a walk and being busier than normal has been working--so these will do until the progress stops. I joined last january and am just getting my brain into it--so KUDOS for your step in the right direction--the key now is to continue going!
