it's going to be busier LOL LOL

Wednesday, August 31, 2011

I took my last puppy to his new home today, which was very sad. It was about a 90 minute drive each way, plus my working at school, and I ended up eating 2 take out meals...a 6 inch steak sub on honey oat and then some rotisserie chicken, 2 nuggets, 2 slices of garlic bread, fries and gravy... BUT I only had 8 fries, even though I could have eaten more.
I have been watching what I eat and eating less, and this meal made me sooooo thirsty!! My body must be getting used to the lower salt, cause I'm really not liking this feeling of extreme thirst.
I have a friend who had a baby on august 22 (a 10lb 4oz baby girl LOL LOL) and yesterday she was complaining of leg pain. Today she went to the dr and she has a thrombosis (clot) so will need to take it easy. She has 4 other kids and her husband passed away, so I will be going help her out.
Tomorrow I work in the tuckshop at school, which is what we call the lunchroom. It has one lady that runs it and the rest are volunteers. She messaged me tonight that her grandfather isn't expected to make it through the night and may not be there, so it looks like it will be up to me to feed the school of over 600 kids LOL LOL. I will be in charge and I will have only one other lady helping me.
Wish me luck!! LOL LOL LOL

Wishing you luck with the tuckshop (I love that emoticon sounds much better than what they call it at our local school-cafeteria)!

Good job on the food awareness too-I find that is one of my biggest struggles!

food went pretty well yeaterday. had my normal breakfast, left over pasta for dinner, and a burger with salad fof dinner.
I've also done a menu for the next 2 weeks for my family, and even though I'm eating the same as them, I'll just have to make sure I have smaller meat and up the veges. My husband has been on evenings for the past 6 weeks, and we have had alot of convieniece meals, so now he'll be on days and I will cook from scratch.
I think with me, consistency is what will get me there!!here are a couple of UNflattering pics of me, that I need to look at!! LOL LOL

over a MONTH away!!!

well, I'm still "off" the plan, but JUST below my starting weight *groan*
The reason why I started this is that I NEED to lose weight. I'm almost double what I should weigh.
I went to my dr about hip pain and he made me fill out a questionairre regarding risk factors for developing type 2 diabetes. My risk factors are low..until they added my waist measurment, and that pushed me over. The goverment has started a program to reduce the risk factors and try to prevent type 2 diabetes.
Part of the "getting started" involved a full health check...heart, weight, blood work, ecg, bp, you name it. I have bad anxiety and I know that sends my bp up. When my dr checked it, it was 160/105...so they checked it and checked it and wouldn't let me leave. I kept telling them it was anxiety...but then I was just making excuses and need to address me weight anyway and this was the push I needed.
I finally left the dr and they gave me a BP machine to take it at home. I knew I shouldn't have LOL LOL LOL I should have just taken that reading and worked with it. Checking it at home, it was NORMAL and even LOW 117/68...so then, for me, I have lost that NEED to get my weight down, even though I KNOW I need to lose, having my BP normal has taken the drive out of me, and I'm soooo stinkin' depressed about it!!!
This is the start of getting back on track, but I need all the help I can get. I need to exercise EVERY day and blog EVERy day and TRACK EVERY day...I know it works and I have to have the faith and drive to do this!!!

Here's to the start of something good!!! emoticon emoticon

thank you so much KATZLAF, yeah, I need to look at the bigger picture. It's hard when you feel OK LOL LOL
we can do this, and tacking will help. I avoid walking cause I live at the top of a very steep hill, and I know that no matter where I go from here, I have to get back up that hill LOL LOL I need to get back on the wii fit

I'm in the same situation-almost twice what I should weigh, trying to avoid chronic health problems already cropping up, etc. so I understand your struggles! My BP is almost always "normal" or even below even when I have a lot of stress, but that doesn't tell the whole story so I have to keep the rest in mind too (too high cholestrol in my blood work, joint pain, risk of type 2 diab.). Even when I can't see it, damage can happen and may not register for awhile.

Start with today-even one little thing (I took my walk early this morning to avoid my making excuses, LOL) and I find it helps set the tone for the day.

down....

Monday, July 18, 2011

haven't been having a good time lately. It seems that since I was sick, I just haven't been able to get back on track, and haven't been eating well at all. Lots of snacks and no real main meals, just picking at all the wrong things. Maybe it's PMS...maybe I just need a swift kick *groan* LOL LOL LOL
I also haven't been exercising. I knew that would happen...once I gave myself a day off, I can't get back into it. I also have some tendonitis in my thumb, but that's just making excuses for myself, right???

Awww, hang in there, Kathy! And don't beat yourself up. At least you are aware......I promise you I had days and days where I fell off my healthy lifestyle. Just pick yourself up the next day....and when you are not feeling well....do what you have to do to modify it....so you feel like you are at least accomplishing something to do with getting healthy....like drinking water.

I know you can do this. I think you are doing great! I am here for ya if you need a shoulder to yell, scream or cry on. Love Ya, Kathy! emoticon
