Excuses: schedules, business, work.

This week was one full of excused for me.

Monday - Day off, therefore no need for exercise.
Tuesday - Nerium (work related) marketing event.
Wednesday - Helping significant other pick up his car from the shop.
Thursday - Nerium team event.
Friday - Needed rest as an excuse.
Saturday - Nerium conference and party.
Sunday - FINALLY: 7 mile hike.

Moral of the story after 6 days of excuses I finally got a hike into the mix.

This week was full of excuses...including the fact that I do not feel good. BUT this is giving me motivation to kick some booty in the gym and on the road next week.

For all my excuse makers out there...I love the following quote:

"The fact that you failed means that you're trying..." Keep on trying!

Well hello old friends!

I am back and with a vengeance!

After a 6 year hiatus and several pounds of weight gain I have decided to take my life and work outs back into control.

I am calling new found passion the journey of the "Short Round Runner."

In a few of my original blogs I had mentioned losing interest in the different work outs I would begin. Recently I was experiencing the same dilemma. A friend of mine is a marathon runner and has ran 6 marathons to date, as well as lost 60 lbs in the process. She has continuously encouraged me to be active and to join in her passion of running.

Well I finally caught the bug. I haven't experienced the runners high yet, and my results are slow (both in weight loss and in time per mile), however, I feel good. Most importantly it gives me the sense of accomplishment I have been seeking this entire time.

I recently wrote on facebook how I love running because you can always improve on your speed, length of the run and there's always a reward at the end of the race. Those are the exact reasons I'm keeping at it.

To date I have completed six 5k runs including mud and obstacle courses, one 10k run and have been an avid participant of the Road Runner Sport Adventure Run (running about 3-4 miles per run). I have a second 10k run planned for Thanksgiving day (the popular Turkey Trot) and a half marathon for February 28, 2015. My current goal is to continue shaving off the weight I gained in the 6 years I have been absent from the site and to improve my running time.

Today I completed a 7 mile run and am feeling both the accomplishment AND the pain.

I am nowhere near my goals...BUT I am slowly gaining momentum and know I will be there in no time.

Thank you to all who have encouraged me in the past. I look forward to becoming a big part of the community.

Haha Yupp me!

My traveling and move to AZ having been great. I've seen and met so many new things new people etc!

With the start of football season I've been working like 10-16 hrs a day. Now classes have started and work has simmered down a bit.

I've been very lazy with the whole meal planning stuff, but I have been very active. I've been biking and working out and walking everywhere.

As soon as I get back on track with the eating thing I think the lbs should go faster.

I hope you all are doing well. =)

I haven't been on the site or worked out in about 2 weeks. I am currently in the process of moving to another state, and I just got back from a work-related trip.

Not only have I packed up all my equipment, but I haven't even had time to walk or anything with work, and packing and saying goodbye to everyone.

On my trip I ate pretty poorly, but we walked around a lot, and I still haven't had soda (yay)! Obviously I haven't lost any weight, but I only gained a lb on my trip, and am now back to my last weigh-in weight of 142.

Unfortunately I won't be able to get back into my work-out routine until I am settled in in AZ. Which is this weekend...BUT I am going on another vacation in Canada. The upside to that is that we have an indoor pool at our hotel which I will most definitely be using in the mornings before exploring Victoria, and Vancouver.

Anyway I hope all is well with everyone and I will try to get back in the mix =)

    Hey good luck on the big move this weekend! And congrats on not completely giving up on vacation eating! ;-) I'm completely jealous about your august vacation though. I'm from the east side of Canada originally and have never made it out west. Let me know when and where you're settled in Tempe, maybe we can meet up one day if ya want. :-) Stay strong!

I didn't write on Monday which is my weigh in date because I was a bit discouraged with the scale again. I haven't lost weight for the 2nd week.

BUT I went ahead and weighed myself on my scale which has fat% and total body water etc. And I lost 1.3% fat YaY! Where's the tracker for that haha!

Anyway hope everyone is having a lovely week =)
