You always have GREAT goals. Wish I could be more faithful about checking in with Spark as I used to. It sucks without a working computer at home. It works just no internet. One day I will break down and pay for it, right now it's just not necessary. I have to pay off my student loans!!! : )

The Dreaded deed...

Thursday, January 26, 2012

Okay so today I had to do something I have been dreading, I so dislike doing this but it was time.. after all its been a year and I duno about two weeks.
So I got up this morning and I did it... I called the Dr. Office and made an appointment for my yearly check up and pap. I don't know which is harder making the call or making myself go to the appointment lol... okay, yes I do making myself go. I have always HATED having to go to the Dr. much less when its time to do this. I know its crazy and its not the worst thing to have to do. Its just so darn uncomfortable. After having two kiddos you would think I would be use to it. And for awhile after going threw all the check ups and such I felt like I was getting use to it... so why now and I dreading it like the pleg??! I don't know... I am hoping and praying that all my blood work will come back really good.. and you know what if it doesn't then something Really wrong because I have been eating so much better and working out so much, well since this past August but that's almost 6 full months now.. so it should be good. Right? Ah its crazy.. I know I will go and sit and wait and wait and that part kills me to have to do when I know what I have to do lol... But after all the waiting they'll do there thing and I'll get blood work done then BAM its over and I get to leave go home and shower after feeling violated. lol I know alittle dramatic but it does feel that way to me lol Anyways then its over and then I will some what for get all about it except for the waiting to get my cholesterol levels back and all that.

Okay so just had to get this out there.. I am hoping maybe I will stress it alittle less having said it! lol And the appointments not until Feb 3rd. So hopefully know I can forget about it until then. anyways Thanks for reading... sorry for the craziness lol

I hope you all have a GREAT day today!!!!

I understand how you feel and I have used the word violated with reference to that check too! At least it's over and done with quickly! I wouldn't mind betting you will see some huge improvements in your blood work too

Is it possible that you need to find a different gyn? I know that I far prefer the one I see now and for the last 16-17 years than the one I saw when I had the 1st 2 kids. The practice is only women and my gyn shares my somewhat unusual gap between first children and last child, so she was never judgmental the way the first practice was. Admittedly there are other things I would rather do but it is only once a year and over the last umpteen years we have developed a warm relationship. In fact we both shared a GP and have had to find a new one when he took his practice concierge. Good luck!

Well Tara I have mine in April but I.had a worse experience today....had to make an appointment for my daughter to go!!! She has had the blessing that a woman at the ped office has background in ob/gun and Kaleigh has had issues with her cycles all along. Now the woman is leaving and.I had to find her a new doctor to keep her meds. Ugh I am.bothered by this more than.I was about her getting her driving permit.

Good luck and.I hope all.goes quickly!!!!

Don't stress so much. Sometimes it makes the whole process uncomfortable if you are tense. Just relax... breathe! It helps me relax knowing that they see people all day. It's just a job! For example... I mail letters at the dealership all day. I don't focus on any ONE address forever. I write it down, stamp it, and send it. Then I'm done with it. But I understand feeling violated. No one else but you and your husband should be in that region... Lol. So yeah! But just breathe, it will make things so a lot more smoothly.

I lost a 3 year old.. ( in weight... not my kiddo)

Saturday, January 14, 2012

HAHAH no I don't mean I lost a 3 year old kid...what I mean is The weight I have lost equals pretty much the amount of weight of my 3 year old daughter lol

She weights 42 lbs I have lost 40lbs. To me its funny to think of it that way but it puts it in perspective.

So now when I feel like I haven't done much or whatever I just pick her up and go O that's what that felt like!!! Can't wait to lose more!!

I've been thinking about this for about a week now but this morning I read a blog another sparker wrote called "Do you realize just how much you've lost? By MEWHENERYSMAMA.. you should check it out! Anyways she was challenge us to find something that weighted 15 20 lbs or whatever you have lost and pick it up and feel the difference. So that's what I did.. kinda.. I wasn't using my daughter as a weight or anything I just happen to pick her up one day and go oh wow your getting so big..and that's when it hit me humm she's 42 lbs and wow I just lost 40lbs.. WOW its like I lost a whole 3 year old so far... now I just need to lose 3 more 3 year old and 1 one year old hahahah

Anyways I think its a Great ideal.. anyone out there who doesn't think you have lost much or whatever... DO this.. find something or someone that weights about what you have lost... pick it or them up!! FEEL the difference!!! Oh yes you have Lost!!! And Keep up the Good work!!!!

That's a great idea, I remember filling a back pack with tins of food until it weighed the 15lbs I lost, but I guess it more fun in terms of people! Congrats on losing 40lbs, that's a lot of work and sweat!

Excellent idea. I keep telling my 11 1/2 year old son, when I am done losing weight I will have lost him, and that is CRAZY to think about. I will have to find something that is 70 pounds to lift....or I can lift Samuel a couple of times, he is 35 pounds! LOL. Have a great weekend Tara.

Awesome, that you lost the weight equivalent of a 3 year old, and not an actual 3 year old! emoticon

Whenever we buy cat food I find myself tracking how many bags would equal how much weight I've lost (we buy the 20lb. bags usually)... and then trying to figure out WHERE all that mass actually was on my body. A 50lb. bag of cat food isn't small... or light for that matter!

Just a thought... / question

Thursday, January 12, 2012

Okay just a thought... Why is it the more you work out the more you want to eat!! uggg...

I am working out more, trying to get this weight moving... in the right direction... and that would be OFF of me lol..... But it seems the more I work out the hungrier I get.. and okay I understand it BUT just wish it wasn't the way it has to be... I mean okay it just seems like its making my efforts all for nothing. Its aggravating!! And don't get me wrong for the most part I am staying with in my calorie limits.. but have been trying to stay at the lower end of it! But the more I work out it seems I am starting to eat the all of the so called aloud calorie limit. I have got to find away to work out more and EAT less lol

Anyone have any tips or tricks lol please share!! emoticon

I think we all agree, protein is the key! Make sure you're getting enough good fats in too, fat helps us to feel full. I'm guessing the hunger is proof that you're working really hard though!

I totally agree with Tracy. Protein is the answer. I also find that if I think I am hungry I will drink water first. If the hungry feeling goes away, then I know I was thirsty and not hungry. I know that sounds strange, but it's how my body seems to work.

    My approach:

Water

Foods with low caloric density, filling, gradual carb release, longer time to digest, and avoid simple easily digestable Carbs

Eat snacks every few hours, and water at that time to prevent hunger.

Snack before workouts and appropriate calories right after

Gave my body time to adjust to new routine

Good luck!

Are you not drinking enough and interpreting thirst as hunger? When I do a hard work out, for example my ST at the gym where I lift weights for 90 minutes followed by 30 minutes of vigorous cycling at a moderately high resistance I generally drink 6-9 glasses of water and when I am done have no desire to eat until dinner time. Thirst is often mistaken for hunger. Good luck!

I agree with the others that said more protein. You might also want to find lower calorie foods to fill you up... veggies are your friend!

If you know how many calories you are burning per week, be sure to enter that into your plan. If you look at the goals section on the 'Start' page, right under the Calories Burned ticker, there is a link you can click to add how many calories you are burning per week. If you put in your calories burned you may find that the calorie range allowed on your food tracker goes up. I know that when I was burning 3,000 calories a week and put it in that entry, I was supposed to be eating more per day. This keeps the body from going into starvation mode and refusing to give up the fat. (If you know this already, ignore me, I just happened to notice that lots of folks don't see that little option. Good luck!

I'm with Tracy...more protein. But I understand your frustration..I'm always starving after a workout. If it was a good workout, sometimes I will drink a cup of low-fat chocolate milk...yummy! (I read somewhere it was good for ya after a workout.) Keep going...your doing great!!

TRACYNOTGIVINUP 1/12/2012 11:47AM

Hi Tara. Maybe its what your eating? I know the key for me is high protein. I eat about.twenty grams at each meal. I honestly don't get hungry in between the meals and sometimes I have to make myself eat lunch. If I don't eat enough protein I find myself with cravings and tired. Keep us posted.
