Judy gave a lot of great suggestions!

Jump roping is a wonderful workout. I'm actually kind of sad mine broke. You'd be surprised how many muscle groups it works!

30 day shred video is good too. They have a lot of modified moves on there, but it's an intense workout as well.

You don't necessarily need a whole lot of equipment as long as your moving! I know doing one thing all the time gets boring. Speaking from experience... I tend to ge bored EXTREMELY easy.

Just a suggestion we have a sporting equipment store here in the Indianapolis area called Play it Again Sports. They sell a lot of used exercise equipment for relatively cheap. You could also try craigslist or ebay.

I hope you find something! Keep up the hard work. You are doing fantastic with what you have!

Sounds like a lot of good advice....I was going to suggest a treadmill too...I just got one as an early Christmas present. You have to shop around though....they can be expensive.

Also, and I know this sounds funny....but a hula hoop! It is inexpensive and it is a workout. I can only do a couple of minutes at a time, and when I'm done I am exhausted. I saw they had larger sizes at Sports Authority.

Good Luck and great question...

Swimming and weights are definitely good suggestions and not too expensive either.

The problem with cardio equipment that goes above 250lbs is the price. Why don't you see if you can find some equipment that gyms are trying to sell off, maybe on ebay. I wouldn't worry if you have to spend a little more (as long as you can afford it obviously) because whatever you buy will be much better quality and last you a lot longer too. You should be able to find manufacturers of gym exercise equipment on the gym websites or just ask and I will find out some brands used in the UK for you. Good luck

yes there are different things to use.
1. fitness ball emoticon go on ball dynamics or just google fitness ball read up on them first. You have to make sure you get the right one you measure your height or have one that you sit on where your thighs are level to the floor. Physical therapist have been using them for years, long before they became popular with gyms.
2. how about a tread mill they are always in the ad section for practically nothing emoticon
3. free weights 5 to 10 pounds for strength training emoticon
4. dance to music
5.tapes on workouts the library have them
6.yoga tapes also emoticon
7.jump rope emoticon even if you can do a few at a time
8.swimming emoticon
9.biking emoticon

There are lots of different things to get involved with just do a few each day emoticon

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

emoticon 310 glasses... (keep missing that mark so going to keep trying!!)

emoticon going to try and eat healthier.. do more SP recipes

emoticon try for 8 hours a night no more no less

emoticon 1500 this month.. I know I can do more I actually did 1844 for Nov.. I m just setting it at 1500 because its going to be a very busy month and I don't want to be stressing about this on top of everything else.

emoticon once a week...

emoticononce a month

emoticon and last but not least Try my best not to Stress out and start eating my feelings... its that time of year where I do my best to make everyone happy and everything perfect and I know That is impossible so why do I try so hard to do it every year... Hum well that is a question to ponder over I guess lol

Also I seen how the Thanksgiving food was packed with sodium.. I did good on calories but the sodium was Horrible so this Christmas I am looking in to a better solution on that.

That and I know this month is going to be harder than last month.. more temptations, my weakness chocolate covered peanut butter balls... and cookies so I will do my best to stay AWAY from temptation but the cookies is going to be very hard because its a tradition to make cookies for christmas and my 3 year old is looking forward to it.

AnyWho Good Luck and Best wishes to Everyone this month!!!

Hello my friend! I certainly have missed you! I am glad to hear that you didn't gain weight from thanksgiving! I think it sounds like you will be able to get a healthier christmas in too! I love your goals for December. I haven't set mine yet. I can't believe how many exercise minutes you get in. You are my hero. I have been doing it 2x a day for 30 minutes because I feel I need the kick of happiness to deal with my stress, which is only going to get worse before better right now. Anyhow, keep up the good work buddy!

You CAN do this....I believe we are all going to have a little bit of a struggle this month, but if we just do our best....we can accomplish our goals.

Good goals... I like your little icons and your background photo. Can you tell me how to put the background up (in back of sparkpage?) This particular option has escaped me :)
PS: I have similar goals, that you listed, and I put them on my "other goals" page as "fast break goals" I believe. It has really helped me to have to check them off daily... keeps me thinking of them, especially since there are so many other things rolling around in my head that I have to do... LOL

Lesson Learned

Friday, November 25, 2011

Had a nice two day Thanksgiving... so far after eating Holiday day food 4 times..lol I was able to stay under 2100 calories..both days that is more than the 1660 I am suppose to stay under but all is okay. The only thing that really got me was how much sodium... oh momma was that bad... my blood pressure shoot up big time and normally I don't have issues with that but I normally stay under 2300 and yesterday it was more like 6100 yea not good.. so I am working off those effects today lol and last night.... anyways so far I have fared pretty good and it was nice.. but I'm really not looking forward to this kind of meal again for Christmas... I've got to find another tradition lol
On a good note the things I cooked was all the healthy versions.. but the problem was the cornbread dressing ... It was soo good but I didn't make it so I don't know what all was in it...

Weight in is monday and today and the next two days I'm going to try and workout like a crazy women lol

I hope everyone's Thanksgiving was good and that everyone enjoys there weekend!!

I love to read about thanksgiving on spark because we don't celebrate it in the UK. Well done with keeping your calories in check, and the sodium will disapar with plenty of water and exercise. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

You can do it. Consider a non ham meal. I always fix lasagne for Christmas. We get ham and Turkey at mil on xmas eve. It is only one day, you will get back to normal afterwards.

Sounds like you and water should be best friends for a while to flush out that sodium!

I think we got blasted with a little too much sodium from the dinners that we had with family. We generally eat light at other people's houses and then we make our own dinner the next day. It's much easier for us to stay in range that way since we know exactly what we are eating.

I'm still trying to figure out what to do for Christmas... the sodium in ham is ridiculous!!! I'm just not sure it will feel like Christmas dinner without ham though.
