I agree. I think your attitude is exactly the way to look at this to make it into a lifestyle over a diet. I hope you have a great turkey day also!!!!

Wanting a Healthy but nice Thanksgiving...

Monday, November 14, 2011

Okay so just as the title says I want to do a Healthier but still good Thanksgiving meal.

So I was wondering if any of you have a favorite recipe or even ideals on what to fix!

We got an Jalapeņo Turkey... they are sooooooo good alittle spicy at times but YUM!!

Also I like dressing.. (gonna try and find ways to make it healthier but still yummy

And Broccoli rice and cheese.. (also looking for a healthier version!! )

I've got wheat rolls to go with this.. and of course cranberries sauce for the hubby lol

Any ideals or suggestions???

    The jalapeno turkey sounds interesting!

It's hard to make suggestions without knowing what you would traditionally have for Thanksgiving dinner. You could always throw together a salad for extra veggies.

I always make the green bean casserole and it's usually a big hit... this year I am going to make the SparkPeople green bean casserole that is MUCH healthier. I'm hoping it'll be just as yummy!

Today's a New Day!! And a BIG THANK YOU to you All

Sunday, November 13, 2011

Okay so today is a new day and I did weight myself to see what damage I might have done, altho weight in for me isn't until tomorrow... which I will weight in again and put in whatever is says but luckie for me this morning when I weighted it said 321.7 which is the same as my last weight in so YAY me I didn't gain anything!!!! So that makes me happy to know. Considering the 3 days I wasn't doing to well. Anyways I am doing my best to get back on track today. I guess the only thing that help me with the not gaining was I was still being active, with cleaning and moving stuff and decorating.. so that's a good thing I plan on keeping all that up but adding back in my exercises. That should help out and I am going to watch what I am eating.. I DID Track Everything even when I wasn't eating well, and while I was going over by like 400 calories a day for the 3 days, it seems I was still active enough not to gain but not enough to lose.. but that's okay I m just going to DO BETTER from here own out!! That is a promise!! I AM NOT GIVING UP!!!

So A BIG HUGE THANK YOU to you All!!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon
For all the words of encouragement, advise, and everything! It truly means alot to me to know that I have support!! With out you I know I wouldn't make it,, I have tried many times on my own and failed. So Thank you!!!!!!

And Best wishes to you all!!! I hope everyone is having a Good Day today and an even better week this week!!!!

I thought I was reading one of my posts. You might over eat a day or two. Might not get your normal exercising in, but at least you were doing some kind of moving around and being active. That does count. It's great that those extra calories didn't make you gain weight. I have to weigh in tomorrow morning and I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to it. I ate fairly good the last two days and did my exercising, but that one day when I ate almost 3,000 calories is still hanging over my head.

As long as you keep the positive attitude and get support from your family and SP, you'll be just fine. emoticon emoticon

not doing to good

Saturday, November 12, 2011

okay so when I m depressed or stressed or whatever this is what I do

1. I eat any and everything! check been doing that..
2. I shop... Check going broke!
3. all I want to do is cry.. Check Check..
4. second thing I want to do Sleep.. okay so I haven't been doing that only because I have two kiddos that need me! (and even more so now.. they still have there colds.. slowly seems to be getting better)
5. slack off on working out.. Check got that one cover 2.. I didn't exercise yesterday and one day last week I only half a$$ed it.

So yup I guess you can say I m not doing to Great right now.. and I know I'm making it worse by eating everything I can get my hands on. and this has been going on for about 3 days now.. well longer with the wanting to cry and sleep but anyways.. I've got to get out of whatever this is!

I hope everyone is having a good weekend! I m going to go do some more christmas decorating in hopes that it will help!

Happy decorating! I love this time of year.

Don't give up on yourself. We all have periods that are rough. My weight loss hasn't gone as planned either. I have been nibbling on and off the past two weeks. Stress is a hugh factor. We both just need to work through it. So hang in there okay. You can get to where it is you want to go. You have the power. You have the strength. So come on, lets do this! You and I are going to have an amazing week. Make it count!! emoticon emoticon

I think it's great you opened up to us instead of staying closed off and alone! Also, listing the things you do when you are depressed is one of the first steps to take when you're ready to break out of the cycle! You are going to make it!

Also, just to let you know, SparkTexas - The Official Team is a very ' 'happening' place to be! Why don't you consider joining us? You'd find lots of motivation and encouragement there, too!

I think the eating thing is part of a vicious cycle. I've been doing that in spurts for weeks now. It's my fault, but at the time when I'm being a total pig - I don't really care.

You'll bounce out of it! We all do. Just hang in there.

Tara big hugs grlfriend! Is it the moon or something. I am ready to take a long vacation from my family besides Samuel and I have been crying all day. I am mad I can't exercise so it makes me want to do nothing. I am keeping my eating in control but I just want to sleep too. I am sorry one of my buddies feels badly too. So lets make a.pact that we will both do thirty minutes tomorrow! I would say today but I have unexpected company coming and still have two kids to pick up bring a friend of kid home and figure out dinner for my husband who again compared me to other wives. Sigh. I hope we both have a kick butt tomorrow! Take it easy!

I had a bad day yesterday. You should go read my blog. Today is the opposite. I'm actually starving myself buts it's not intentional. My schedule is all screwed up today. I had to meet with a friend at 8:30am for breakfast. That's a late breakfast for me. Came home. Finished the laundry, vacuumed the floors and hit the weights. Come to find out I wasn't even scheduled for ST today. but that's OK. I even jogged for 15 minutes. Everything got backed up. Missed my morning snack. Had a Whey shake for lunch and cottage cheese and a small apple for my afternoon snack. My stomach is actually hurting right now because I've only had a little over 800 calories and I need to get up to 1700. There's no way I can do that unless I eat like I did yesterday and I'm not doing that.

I guess you just need to figure out what the culprit is and try to change things. If your bored, you need to find something to keep your mind off of eating. I've been there so I know what I'm talking about. Make sure you are drinking your water and fill up on fiber.

Hang in there. I hope things turn around for you. make sure you get the support that you need to move ahead. There's NO looking back, only ahead.

At least you're aware of what your doing. Ask yourself, why are sad, what is making you stress out? Hopefully your stresses will deminish and you'll get back on track! emoticon

You are not alone! I have recently struggled with staying on track when it comes to taking care of myself. I had a great talk about it with someone really close to me and I felt instantly better. Your feelings and valid and you know what will make you feel good. Find something that motivates you and do not beat yourself up at all! We all face stressful times, you have support!
