Sweets aren't always Sweet

Thursday, December 15, 2011

I have a tendency to enjoy eating lots of sugar and then regret it later on. I have found a food plan that combats those crazy cravings. After years of being a sugarholic, I am slowly learning to stop the sugar insanity. I do get insane at times, but I now know what to do to combat that unhealthy habit. I don't have to wonder what diet or food plan that works....I CERTAINLY KNOW what foods I should be eating. I don't plan to stop eating sugar at this point, but am learning how to make wise choices. Some will say that the only way to stop sugar cravings altogether is to get off of it completely. Others say in moderation. I say, people are different and what work for some may not for others. I have experienced on my food plan, if I go too long without sugar, I tend to binge....so what was the point of denying myself. For my own body, I am trying to find a happy medium. Well....that is where I am at this point and time.

I will say that exercise have been playing a role in my life lately and for that I am really happy. I used to say, why exercise if you aren't going eat right. Funny thing, exercise can actually be a motivator to eat better. Also, exercise is a great stress reliever, not to mention the benefits of being able to move better and having more energy. Well better health is a life time commitment and I am glad that there is a place like SparkPeople to aid in that en-devour.

So basically at this point of my health journey, I am not concerned of completely eliminating sugar, but being aware of the AMOUNT of sugar I am consuming. Here are two videos that I found interesting in my Health Journey:

As I said, this is a life time en-devour. I say...going slowly in the right direction is much better than reverting back completely to unhealthy habits. Taking two steps forward and one step backwards is better than not having gone forward at all. In other words a setback is not failure. The point is to continue to go forward and before you know it, there will be more ground gained than lost.

I so agree, sweets are not always sweet. Thanks for the links, just thinking too much sugar may = stored fat may be just what I need to say no to those sweets this season.
