Dental work

Tuesday, March 04, 2014

I found out yesterday my gums are getting bad. I am on antibotics and a mouthwash. Tomorrow I go in for a full mouth debridement. I have no idea what lies ahead for any more treatments. I am so nervous from what I have researched they will clean my gums and teeth real well which will make my gums sore to help get rid of buildup and hopefully the swelling. Then check the pockets to see if my roots have separated from my gums. The do a procedure to fix that and if that doesn't work then I have to have surgery. She never said what lies ahead so I have no clue what is going on which I hate. I am not in a lot of pain and I can eat with no problem and after being on medicine for the last 24 hours I can see the swelling is better and so is the redness. I would think if it was real bad the xrays would have shown it and she would have started more evasive treatments. Please pray that no surgery will be required.

Debridement is no fun, but it can do wonders for your gums, so I hope that's all you need. Glad that you are having it taken care of before you start losing teeth.

Love Sue

Believe that it is not so serious as to require surgery. I sent you a private Spark Mail. Try to remain calm; I know it's hard to do under the circumstances. Will keep you in my prayers tonight that all will go well for you tomorrow.

Zumba

Friday, January 10, 2014

I am wanting to add zumba to my workouts. I have been looking at Zumba Exhilerate. Has anyone done this one? Any recommendations on zumba dvds?

Haven't tried Zumba. I have watched some videos on YouTube to see what's involved, but I think I'm too spastic and uncoordinated to be able to follow. emoticon I got NO rhythm! Good luck with it for yourself!

Thank you for your opinions on it. I won the set on ebay over the weekend. I am so excited about trying it. I definitely plan on using the instruction.

i took a zumba class through a local gym and did not like it. i have picked up dvds from the library and thought it was a lot of fun. I have never done Zumba Exhilerate. Sounds like it could be fun.

I have it and absolutely love it! The instructional DVD step by step will give you a great introduction to the moves as anyone new to it should do. The set comes with a pair of toning sticks. I love Activate, its a great first one to try as its 45 min and not a too difficult to follow. Only try Exhilarate when you are fully comfortable with the moves as its very advanced and lasts 60 minutes. All the DVD's give you the option of having voice instruction and its best to take that option to start to give yourself a chance to follow the move changes which can happen fast.
Enjoy!

It is fun! I got the whole set last year (I won a box full of stuff and Exhilarate was in there - imagine my excitement!). My favorite workout is Activate because it's a little bit easier to follow. Exhilarate is fun, but seems to move faster. You can set it for voice cues or without cues (I still go for the voice cues, so I don't always have to stare at the TV). I've just started adding one workout a week into my routine (in fact I'll be doing Exhilarate tomorrow). I would recommend it, but I'm lucky in the fact that I didn't actually have to buy it.

Day 7 and 8

Monday, August 19, 2013

Saturday was a good day. one of the best Saturdays that I have had in a long time. I ate well and watched my portions. Yesterday I did splurge alittle. I splurge a little on Sundays. We usually have a big family breakfast and a dinner. I did use portion control. I am finding out that for me is to not deny my craving and eat alittle bit of it so I don't binge eat later. Today I want to continue on my portion control.

Excellent. As a recovering binge eater myself, the most important key to breaking free is knowing what sets us off. For many of us, it's restriction. So glad that you know this about yourself so that you can enjoy your food in healthy moderation. You rock!

Day 6

Saturday, August 17, 2013

Today is my test. I seem to really struggle on my eating on the weekends. I have a food plan and workout plan so hopefully today will run smoothier. I have already worked out. Tonight I have planned a sunset walk. I will blog tomorrow on how I do.

Day 5

Friday, August 16, 2013

I did well yesterday. I did throw away the corn bread breading. Yea me! My true test comes tomorrow. I always lose focus on the weekends. I am going to try so hard. Today I really don't have anything testing me. I did do my workout this morning and tonight I am going to do a power walk.

When you want to snack - tell yourself that you have to drink a glass (2cups) of water first. This is great for increasing your water intake for the day or it is at least a deterrent for snacking!

Best of luck over the weekend!

I have the same problem on the weekends. I noticed the pattern on my tracker. I have been trying to get up and get busy when I feel like eating. I will do simple things around the house or take the dogs for a walk or make a phone call. It seems to help me cope with the craving to eat and after I am done with the activity I am not even thinking about eating.

I also have a problem on the weekends. Just keep trying and treat it like a weekday if you can.
