My balancing act.

Friday, April 27, 2012

I did not expect to feel this frustrated after the relative success that I have had. I know the problem is balance, after all, isn't a weight problem really a balance problem? I eat too much, I don't exercise enough. Balance.

I keep having to adjust my exercise goals because I am not consistent with it. So should I set my goals based on the REALITY of my exercise or based on my seemingly realistic, but not always obtained goals. I either don't meet the calorie burn goal at all or blow it out of the water. Balance.

Some days it's the same with my food. Some days it is after 8 pm and I have 300 calories left to consume to meet the minimum, and I am not even hungry. Other days, I have met my max calorie goals by 4 pm, and I'm still hungry, AND I can't go to bed for another 7 hours or more. I have SEVEN hours to either feel hungry, or guilty. I just can't seem to find a good balance.

It has been almost 3 weeks and I have gained and lost the same 2 pounds. Don't get me wrong, I am sooo thankful that it is only 2! I researched plateau, I looked at my exercise, and my diet. I am completely out of balance. I started Sparking on January 15, 2012. I was so excited to have a FREE resource to help me get control of this, and I enthusiastically began to exercise more. I enthusiastically (and much to my husband's displeasure) cleaned out the pantry. i went from one extreme to the other-- that darn balance again.

My question is how do I find balance?

That's a question I'd like an answer to also! My Health/Exercise Pendulum swings 100% one way and then 100% the other way. I can be very good or very bad but can't seem to find that middle ground.

But, if we keep trying and we don't give up, we're bound to figure it out. Others have done it and so can we!
