Trying to determine if cravings last week were related to PMS, Protein Shakes, or both! Hmm... Guess I'll have to experiment this week with a protein shake for breakfast and see if I end up having cravings for the rest of the day... But not today! Breakfast was beef with peppers and cucumbers....
There are only 4 sugars in the shake - but as a Paleo, to me they taste every bit as sweet as a fast food milk shake!
Any other people out there who try to avoid sugar/sweetners find the "sweet" taste of protein meal replacement shakes throw you into cravings?

Sorry I've been MIA. For the last several weeks (months...) life has thrown more than a few hurdles and turns in my path that have stalled my focus and weight loss. I've regained and lost the same 2-5 lbs over this time and I'm now just irritated by the whole process! I need to get back on track for me, my personal goals, and to ensure I can be the best person possible for my loved ones.
Fud: I got away from recording my food. Over the last week, I've gotten back into the habit again. I was staying Paleo, but portions were more than necessary.
Activity: Okay - walking 10K steps a day has been great... and something I plan to keep in my arsenal for maintenance! However, it's just not enough when combined with the food quantities to keep me losing weight - and I still have a ways to go. While I'd been adding in other types of exercise and strength training, I was not being consistent.
Consistency bring success for me, so I needed something to lock in on. So now I find myself preparing for one of the final steps in my "journey toward health" - I posted earlier on my SparkPage that I want to do a 5K mud run. Now is the time to prepare for the 5K portion.
I finished Born to Run and am re-inspired.
This morning I completed W1D1 of what should be a 3 workout a week process for 8 weeks.
I've never been an athlete. So I researched running technique/form, been analyzed for foot strike, and purchased an appropriate pair of running shoes. I'm working with the "Ease into 5K" app...
Let's see if this is a new healthy habit I can pick-up with consistency!

Okay, my glass is half full!
While I may not be showing the weight loss I am working towards, I am not showing weight gain and I think that's awesome!!!!
If all goes well, I'll be settled and back to regular spark activities within the next few weeks - until then my goal is to keep a Paleo lifestyle, ensure adequate activity, and NOT gain a pound until I can get back to a place where I can start losing again.
I've got my rose colored glasses on... but that's how I prefer the view!

Should be called an Asian buffet because they also have kimchee, sushi, and Pad Thai!
Best part is in the back of the restaurant they also have a flat top grill that they use as a Hibachi station. You chose your proteins/veggies (they also had noodles), sauce of your choice - I skipped those, and the chef grills right in front of you.
Best wishes for a healthy weekend!

During my 10K steps today, at the mall, I decided to play dress up at Needless Markup. I put on a skirt, shirt, and jacket and went to the surround mirrors to check things out.
First let me reinforce that I will always have curves - that's just my body style, and I know how to dress my body to highlight the good and camo the not fabulous! I need clothes that work for the girls (darts or knits work best), that are more generous in the bottom for the hips and thighs, yet also need to be nipped at the waist to accentuate that I have one!
At any other store I'm currently wearing at 14-16 depending on the cut/style. At Needless, I fit comfortably in a size 12 jacket. Hah - just to prove the vanity sizing issue I mentioned above, the Jacket was priced at $450! I don't think Macy's even carries a suit that costs that much, and I won't buy the Macy's suit until it hits the clearance racks!
Since it was 20 lbs since my last photo update, I added a shot of it to the gallery for anyone interested!
Morale of the Story: Fit is everything. Ignore the numbers. Clothes are cut differently and if you find something you like but it doesn't quite fit right, buy the next size up and get it altered to fit your curves if necessary. You'll look great and feel fabulous!!!
