Is it stress? Lack of consistency, sleep? Too much cortisol? Not enough water?

It is mental? I'm holding at a few lbs shy of One-derland. Is it fear of "success"? Afraid of breaking the barrier again and losing my identity?

Stress continues - still lacking answers. Still working to remain consistent and sincerely appreciate all the Sparky support!

I hope everyone else is staying focused and doing well!

    Fatkat is right, the scale doesn't tell the whole story. But you know, you don't have to worry about those few pounds. Just track your calories daily and stay in the right range. Remember that the weight goal we choose is an arbitrary number. Our body will pick a final weight based on who we are and how we live. If you are fit and like the way you look, you might not need to lose any more. If you can still see a bit of extra tummy, just hang in there at the right calorie range. You should be eating a regular diet anyway, not a "diet diet". So just keep it up, you'll get there and it doesn't matter how long it takes at this point.

    This whole thing is such a journey and we go though many ups and downs during it, and sometimes the results just don't make sense, but we keep going anyway. You'll get through this one, too! I know that a couple of months ago, I had a near perfect month, and only lost 2 lbs, then followed it up with a not so perfect one, and lost 3. So who knows? I can't figure it out, either, but just try to keep going and try to make good decisions most of the time, and am trying not to stress too much about the results on the scale because I can't figure it out!

    I went through a phase where I was stressed because i wasn't losing any weight even though I was exercising and eating properly.. Lo and behold, a few months later I noticed that all my clothes were way too big for me. I hadn't lost weight but I had totalyt toned up my body.and was getting compliments from eveyone. After toning up, I started to lose weight again.

My company may be downsizing...
The significant other is dealing with IRS issues...
His 20-something son just moved back in with him...
Sis had two car accidents in a week...
Dad had a biopsy on a facial growth and we're still waiting for results...

Just makes a gal with food issues wanna run for the........ Comfort foods - High carb or sugar to just numb everything...

Unless that gal knows that all the above issues are not really about her, and nothing she does or doesn't eat is going to impact the results of any of the above issues.

So I turned instead to the relaxation of my 10000 steps and a cold bottle of water; remained Paleo and stayed well within calorie limits.

I'm putting today in the "win" column!

Japanese fast food - Paleo-esque...

Do you have one of those fast-food Japanese restaurants in the food court of your local mall?

I've started ordering the lunch special teriyaki with rice/noodles and veg (chicken or shrimp)

I order the protein, no margarine, no teriyaki sauce, but with spicy sauce (chili Sriracha) and all veggies (they are steamed w no sauce). There is enough spicy sauce to flavor the veg as well!

Nice alternative when you haven't prepped a meal...

Only question - what is that "sauce" on the raw chicken??? Starch of some kind? I tend to get the shrimp anyway!

Down again on the scale! Hope everyone is progressing... :)

    Congrats on the weight loss!
I love ordering chicken or shrimp sub gum chop suey at Chinese just steamed cooked only...nothing added. It is excellent!

    Sounds good. I don't remember whether the mall I sometimes go to has one of those places. If they do, I could try this with tofu if they have it. Congratulations on your weight loss!

  There's no mall in teeny tiny Oak Ridge, but we did have a tiny new Chinese/Thai/Japanese place named Chopsticks open this past month. One of the servers there is fascinated when she sees me coming in. She knows to put my rice in a bowl on the side, so I can give it away to someone else, and they prepare mine with virtually no sauce of any kind, then give me a small dipping bowl of the sauce instead. That way, I can taste it and decide if a little bit will send my sugar soaring or not.

They're so nice, they've started filling up the empty space on my plate with extra steamed veggies "so it look better." Can't complain about that! (grin)

    That's great that you can eat Japanese and choose healthy sauce, I have trouble doing that. My local mall is like 30 miles away,LOL and it doesn't have a food court only a few restaurants. They have a Panera Bread which I love but the things I like there I don't think are very healthy. We do have a Japanese restaurant really close to us and I love the food there but I also love their sauce, so I make it unhealthy for myself, wish I could do without it but the main reason I eat there is because the sauce is so good. People even go in there and order the sauce by the bowl just to take home and eat with their own meals cooked at home. I don't eat there often and its probably a good thing! Congrats on the loss and keep up the great work, you are such an inspiration! emoticon

    I would like to see all the historical site, going to a mall, finding a place to walk, and visiting with people if I know anyone. Going to the beach is another thing I would like to do and eating out at restaurants. going to a concert. I could list a lot of things I like to do.

    Supermarkets. Farmer's market was high on my list, too. Good places to walk, post offices, I feel like I am forgetting lots of things!

    The tiny little museums that house all the local history. I think it helps to really know the people and how the town came to be. My husband and I take small, weekend trips all the time. One of the first things we do is go to the local museum and see all the favorite local historical sites.

Exercise and food intake - both need to be in balance...

It was an excessive day for exercise, and while food choices were Paleo, quantities seem large looking back on things.

Makes sense - the more you exercise, the hungrier you get.

The best news is while weight has not been dropping as fast as I would like, clothes are down another size!

Hope everyone is doing well and tracking towards your goals!
