Scale did NOT make my day today!

Wednesday, June 02, 2010

So I knew I hadn't been working out much in the last few days, but I had been paying attention to what I ate, especially because I knew I wouldn't be able to get to the gym. It went up. Again. Trying not to let it bother me, but use it as motivation.

I'm right there with you. All we can do is chalk it up to not be as careful as we should have been over the long holiday weekend and move on.

How harmful is watching a fire?

Tuesday, June 01, 2010

One of our bigger buildings downtown burned yesterday afternoon, and of course it drew a huge crowd. I couldn't help but wonder how harmful it is to watch something like that in terms of breathing in smokey air?

Smokey air from Canadian wildfires...in VT??

Monday, May 31, 2010

So us northerners woke up to smokey air thanks to a wind pattern that brought smoke and bad air from Quebec where apparently they are experiencing wildfires. While I hope the fires are under control soon for obvious environmental reasons - and no houses are lost and no people are hurt, of course! - it stinks (literally) that we can't fully enjoy this beautiful Memorial Day. Hopefully the wind changes soon!

Just finished 'Everything They Had'

Sunday, May 30, 2010

I just finished a posthumous collection of David Halberstam's best sports writing called "Everything They Had." He does such an interesting job of combining the sports world and the sociologic world. Loved it!
