Friday fitday!

Friday, October 21, 2011

I really love my Friday workout. It's the only day where I don't do some sort of group or dyad workout. I suppose I'd feel differently if I had a bunch of solo workouts. Anyway I get to set my own pace without any pressure to keep up with someone else. Today I did 30 on the elliptical, 15 on the cycle, and the circuit. I worked the bike super hard because Kelly Clarkson was on the ipod and my best friend was just dumped by her boyfriend and I felt the need to feel the angst for her.

I know how you feel on those solo days because I love my gym days where I can just go and get all my anger out. Keep up the good work.

2 Pairs of pants announce their retirement!

Thursday, October 20, 2011

With the loss of 19 pounds I m both happy and sad to announce the retirement of 2 pairs of pants. Happy because I have proof of the shrinkage of my butt, tummy, thighs, etc. and sad because they were Liz Claiborne pants. They used to feel sooooo good! They were quality garments...lined and the fabric felt soft. Also, they were plaid. I was proud that I could put my butt into plaid pants and feel confident. I think I need to retire a pair of jeans and some skirts too but I'll save those decisions for a few up coming mornings (and hopefully get a motivation boost). Luckily I have multiple boxes of "On my way back down for the last time clothes." I tested out 1 pair of pants in the next size down and I think I will be good to go. Woot!

I think you should reward yourself with some new pants you love just as much!

I have also moved into my second tier of sizing :) Unfortunately/fortunately I lost a bunch of weight last year and disposed of my bigger tier, bought smaller, only to gain back (and more) to find I didn't have clothes. I don't want to do that again and can't wait to retire some of these things permanently! I think this is one of the best parts about this journey!

    Dear Liz Claiborne Pants,

Best of luck in your retirement - may it be permanent!

Sincerely, Chickpea23

    Congratulations. It's a great feeling.

I just did the same. I was once a 50 inch waist, and now the 44's are falling off me.

I am looking forward to shopping for smaller sizes.

Time to up it

Wednesday, October 19, 2011

I an thinking it's time to bump up my strength training from 7 to 8 pounds. Noticing the little improvements in my strength and endurance are super motivators. Hopefully it will translate in my most challenging area...5k walk/jog training (what I do can't probably quite be described as running but damn it trips out my mind). I'm hoping I can up it out on the track in the morning. Go me!

Today's recipe for success: Just add water

Tuesday, October 18, 2011

My workout regime was getting old at the gym. Translation: I skipped the last 4 Pilates classes (Tuesdays & Thursdays). So I decided I best find another class that I could at least show up to. Today I tried adding some water to my regime. I did a 45 minute water aerobics class. It was very good. I am aware of some muscles in interesting ways. I am looking forward to going again on Thursday. I heard it is a different instructor. It's always fun to see how different people approach similar classes. I do however need to find some sort of bra to wear with my swimsuit. There's a bit to much bounce and buoyancy going on.

This could be the new Monday

Tuesday, October 18, 2011

I worked the weekend so I was off today. It was weird to be off on a Monday. Daytime TV is even worse on weekdays. That's probably a good thing as I really do need to watch less. Anyway I dusted the TV console and properly hooked up the Wii by threading the wires thru the holes in the TV stand. Then I checked out a few things on Wii sports. My Wii fit age was 67. I am going to hope and pray that some of it is because I am technologically challenged...and damn those kids in grade school were right to pick me last. I am super slow. I'll have to see if I'm any better at Sports resort and then the fit plus (I think it should get here on Wed or Thur). Anyway it was fun and I think it will replace some of my lie on sofa and watch TV habits.
I did leave the house today to go to my aerobics and strength training classes. Once I got home I folded 3 loads of laundry, packed 5 gym bags for the week (my normal Sunday night routine), made dinner, packed lunch and breakfast for tomorrow (6am 5k training means I have to get up early and eat on the way), showered, and made up the bed with fresh linens. I'm thinking this could be my new Monday routine because TV is abysmal and Sunday nights I do enjoy some Sister Wives or Breaking Bad.
