Buffalo, Kangaroo, Alligator, rice, potatoes, parsnips, eggplant, greens, rice noodles, bok choy, cherries, plums, mangoes...yum! I have some food sensitivities. Finding alternatives will be a lot of fun for you, like it was for me - think of your plate as "half-full", not "half-empty"! LOL!!!

Voila! A dinner you can eat & enjoy that no one will think is weird!

Wow, Ronnie, I'm sorry. It looks like you're not allergic to garlic. So at least you're not a vampire emoticon

Bacon! Salad, chicken, beef, broccoli, cauliflower. Can you still have other types of fish? Good luck and focus on what you CAN have.

the mighty mississippi

Wednesday, April 24, 2013

it is one mile out from my back door but all is well since we are above the bluff. the flooding we are experiencing is from the rain overwhelming the sump pump which is close to 40 years old. so we will probably put a new one in to update it and use the tim taylor of tool time more power. ugh ugh ugh

I love the Mississippi! It's beautiful. I am often astounded at what other areas call a river. Around here they would be a creek. LOL.

bad news comes in threes

Saturday, April 20, 2013

so i was out doing the regular sat eerrands one of which is grocery shopping and DH calls and says the basement flooded. the carpeting is soaked and wanted to know where the shop vac and tools were. oh goody there goes our plans to travel again. 8 hours later at least 30 gals hauled upstairs and out to the curb and shifting as much of the stuff in the basement to dryer areas and now almost 7000 steps and 8 flights of stairs. my body hurts in all kinds of places some new others very very old, i am tired but maybe that is a good thing and i will sleep well.

Sounds terrible. Don't you have a sump pump or something? They rent them in our area. I hope things are back to normal soon. It's time for some good luck.

Oh dear. The one positive if it's true they come in threes is that once you get through the three you can expect good things.

Hope nothing too important was damaged.

emoticon about your basement. It seems to be a trend here lately. I had some water. Some of my co-workers had to leave their homes and others had major flooding. I feel your pain. I hope things start to happen better for you in three's.

set back on the promotion

Saturday, April 20, 2013

three working days before i was to start my new job title i was told they had to withdraw the promotion. they had to offer it to three other people in that agency before they could offer it to me. the reason this happened is because i took the promotion last november to the agency i am in currently working. the central personnel office is behind on paperwork and five months later i am still listed with my previous agency. my heart was broken and i cried for two days felt very blue for four days. on the other hand my supervisor and the next one up are thrilled that i am not out of a job and that i am staying. the bureau chief (aka head of the agency) really went to bat for me to get this situation straightened out and was very supportive. it is nice to be in a place where the people are supportive and will step up for you.

I think that this is grossly unfair. I don't see how they can get away with this. They promised you the job and you should have it.

Family is definitely just about blood relatives but the ones you surround yourself with who are there for you!

You deserve the love and care of friends. You were entitled to a family that loved you and unfortunately you were deprived of that apparently - now you have a SP family who DOES care and who will be here for you as you heal the hurts inflicted on you by those who could not or chose not to care and love you enough. Wishing you comfort and peace.
