It has been awhile since I have posted anything on SparkPeople. I was on the IP diet and had some success - lost 30 lbs. However, it became too expensive and I was just tired of it. The one thing I learned is whatever you do to lose the weight is what you will need to do to keep the weight off. With that said, I gained back 20 lbs of the 30 I lost. However, I found another plan that may just work for me. The 17 day diet - it's broken into 4 17 day cycles. I see some people here have had success with the plan. I am feeling confident I can do this . i am to the point where I have to do something. I work out regularly, so if I can just get my nutrition in check, I should be able to reach by goal. My goal at this point is just get 1o 199 lbs.

It has been a while since I posted anything. I have lost 36 lbs since I started IP in September. I am about halfway to my goal. I made the decision to go off protocol for the holidays - too many parties, dinners, etc that I wanted to be a part of. So come the first of the year, I will go back on the program. I know everyone makes promises of losing weight and getting healthy for the new year, however, next year will FINALLY be my year. I have tried in vain for so many years to lose weight, but I know this program really works if you stick with it. Hey I have 36 lbs to show for it. By the spring I should be at my at my goal weight. Last week I had to go away on business. Needless to say, I had a difficult time staying on protocol. No surprise I gained 3 lbs, which is not too bad considering I resorted to my old habits. I did well in the beginning of the trip, but towards the end, I just stopped trying. I think it was a combination of things. Being on this program gets a little boring after awhile and being away from my environment was hard. But no need in beating myself up about it. Like they say, "When you fall off the horse, just get right back on". So I will dust myself off and get back on protocol. The thing I remember is that this program works. I can and I will do this. I have lost 27 lbs, something I have not done before. Here's to the next 27 lbs.

Well, I have been on IP for almost two months and have lost 30 lbs. Something I find just amazing. I am willing to admit sometimes the program can get rather boring. I feel if I eat another pudding or veggie I will ..... Well, you get my drift. However, I can not deny the results. I just keep telling myself, this is just a short-term program and by the beginning of the New Year, I should be at or near my goal. In the meantime, back to the veggies.

I had an unofficial weigh in last night (my coach is away), but our scales similiar. I was down 5.5 lbs for a total of 26 lbs - Yeah Me!! I am so happy I finally found something that works for me. I have been struggling with my weight and hypothyroidism for the past 2-3 years. I saw a nutritionist, ate right and worked out regularly - all to no avail. When I found the IP program, I thought this was just another gimmick, but I was willing to try it any way. At this point I felt desparate. I was steadily gaining weight despite my best efforts. Now six weeks later, I have lost 26 lbs - that is just amazing. I can actually say this plan works. I was concerned whether I would maintain the weight loss, but now I am sure I can. I have seen others who have kept the weight off, I know I can too.
