DAY 35 DIABETIC RECOVERY AD LAST DAY OF JUICE FEAST

Saturday, March 19, 2011

I had a great day today. We launch our Debutante and Master's season at church today, enjoyed friends, and my husband I hung out and bought beautiful produce. My fasting blood sugar was 208, and within the hour it was at 149. My body is getting used to the changes.

This morning, I did Bahama Mama - it contained a whole pineapple, coconut water, asian pear, lime juice, cilantro and celery. Cilantro is a cleanser and a detoxifer from the elements. Celery contains the natural sodium that our bodies need and help with edema.

Lunch juice was blueberries, spinach, strawberry,

Dinner was beet, carrot, asian pear, celery, maters, cilantro, jalapeņo, lemon juice, chard and avocado - we had not had any oil in our diet this week. emoticon and creamy. I poured the juice in blender and added in the avo.

Tomorrow is a busy day for us, church, b'd party for Pastor - being dbl nickels, and he likes me again - it is hard shepherding me on his ministerial staff emoticon - couldn't have it any other way. Then, we are trying to get in a movie. All is well, and I will accept what God allows and appreciate grace and mercy.

JUICE FEASTING DAY 2 AND DAY 34 OF DIABETIC RECOVERY

Friday, March 18, 2011

Well we did day 2 and I just finished my dinner juice and it was awesome. I am telling you it was so good, I wanted to hollar!!! Hubs came and said, I don't know what you did, or how you made this, but it is awesome.

I received a letter from my doctors office ( when they send you a letter, it is so serious). There is much to do - and when I see her in 6 weeks, I will have some changes. I am following the Docs Barnard and Furham and will quiet of bit of raw. I will be using the pulp from yesterday - cause it was asparagus, and tomorrows juice will be strawberries, blueberries, asian pear and spinach and I make a sweet and a savory dehydrated bread, which will be used for sandwiches or accompaniment with my soups.

Another change for me will be so many more veggies, soup and stews. I am so ready to be out of this diabetic game I have played so long. My husband is vegan and excellent health; I prepare his food and ensure that everything is in order. I teach vegan and raw food classes and I cater.

So why not I. I, being not always happy, insecure, and not willing to give EVERYTHING to God. These past years have become a lesson in God loving me, and my learning has allowed me to be in the eye of God. I don't have it all together, but I do have God.

Today Juices

BREAKFAST - CARROT APPLE GINGER

LUNCH - FROZEN MANGO/LIME - WONDERFUL emoticon

AND THE PIECE DE RESISTANCE - THIS WAS OFF THE CHAIN GOOD!!
It was made from tomatoes, onion, fennel, broccoli, red sweet pepper, lemon, cucumber, and bosc pear. I juiced all those item, then I blended it with basil and 1/4 cup soaked sundried tomatoes. I don't know if I can duplicate it, but we loved it. I almost did another juice cause I was going to horde it, emoticon

"My heart and my flesh fail; but God is the strength [Rock] of my heart and my portion forever." Psalm 73:26

What a security we have in knowing that He will never leave us, even when we don't 'have it all together' (which is always)! We are ever learning...

Oh, I am loving it all. U are the juice Queen, and I'm just a foot behind you. I'm loving my clean fresh homemade juices, and I would not trade it for the world. My weight broke loose as soon as I started to juice and blend 2 of my meals, and 2 of my snacks. I'm loving it, and you know what. I don't mind doing it. It's emoticon.....

Now then, I know you are going to have everything in order by the time you see your doctor again. Just get out there and plant some veggies, you are going to love working in your garden this summer.. Happy planting emoticon & Juicing emoticon

Great info & very informative. Still not convinced that this is for me but I have at least taken the juicer out of the cupboard! emoticon It's one of those items that you buy as you get ready to do the doggone thang... You use it in the beginning and away it goes.

I do appreciate the inspiration from your blogs!

I'm still a work in progress,
~Debbie

JUICE FEASTING AND DAY 33 DIABETIC RECOVERY

Thursday, March 17, 2011

My day began with my making a Pico da Gallo juice, with all the fixing for salsa. It was great.

Luch's juice was spinach salad Ijuces all the fixin' except peacans. This juice had strawberries, pears and spinach.

Our dinner juice was asparagus, lime, onion, garlic, swiss chard, asian pear, celery, bell pepper jalepeno pepper and it was great and filling
I saved dinner pulp because I plan t make crackers

by adding flax seed and some seasonings. The pulp really is pretty:

I add greens to all juices becaue I am a diabetic and I have to ensure that I stay balanced. After dinner my blood sugar was 116. I also walked ourside to day and it feels wonderful Thanks for dropping by.
