today at the gym. i didn't quite finish my spin class. this is after i walked to the gym, did weights, ran for 12 mins, spun for 50 mins then realized i had to walk back to pick up hayds. i was just physically exhausted. then i realize i have worked out 6 days in a row pretty heavily. i feel like you feel after a half. well at least for me. my legs are all rubbery but they don't hurt. they just don't work. might have some to do with physio yesterday as he was trying some traction type stuff on my leg.
physio..... thanks to those of you who asked. i actually wrote a long blog last night that i either deleted or it disappeared somehow. grrrrr.
so after much poking and prodding it appears i may have a leg length discrepancy. it appears my right femur is longer than my left. however, physio is still trying to figure out if it is anatomical or bio-mechanical from an injury (being pulled up). i have to go to my doc to get the referal for an xray so they can actually measure my bones. however, i do have classic signs of someone who it would be anatomical with:
i have always been a toe walker, all my injuries are to my right side (shin splits, sore arches, knee pain as a teen, right hip, right butt)
keep re-injuring the same thing even after lengthy rest
my range of motion is similar in both hips
my right leg also slightly rotates out unless i really focus on keeping it straight
my left leg is shorter by about 6-10mm (1/4 to 1/2 inches) when they measured a couple of different ways. so when i run i am basically limping and kicking my right hip out when my hips sway. this also explains why my si joint is always going out as my pelvis is doing a lot of extra twisting when i run.
so he asked my to go to the store that does orthodontics and get a heal lift for my left leg to see if that helps alleviate some of the pain and tightness in my flared it band. he did some massage, traction, strength and stretching. next week we will start ultrasound and other stuff.
