Biggesgt Loser, September 20,2011

Tuesday, September 20, 2011

I may be a bit syndical here but I am watching the biggest loser. They have them split up with youngest in one team, middle group in another team and oldest in the third team. Well the youngest and middle teams really tried to win the first challenge by running most of the mile, but the older team, they walked the whole way, saying , gee we are too old to keep up to the younger two teams. PLEEASE!!!!!!, The spin this season seems to be they will run a marathon and the winner will automatically be in the finals. Well it sure won’t be anyone from the older team if they don’t change their attitude. The older team is people from 50 – 65, even when I was over 200 pounds, I had more energy and more stamina these folks. The one thing I am glad about this season is they DO NOT have partners. They don’t have a family member or friend to lean on like the past couple of seasons. Even the older team is wimping out. She said her older team can perform as well as the young folks. I am hear yelling at the TV, pardon my language but WHY THE HELL NOT??????? Now a 60 year old is complaining “I can’t do this…I need a break. How do they expect us do this on the first day????” Where did she think she think she was going, Disney Land??????

I am so glad Debbie went home, also. All she did was complain and always wanted to stop. What did she think she was there for, a vacation????? The trainer, come on. Just because they are older doesn't mean they can't do the exercise. I will be 60 in February and on some days, I go to three gym classes. (Group Power, Group Step and Ab Bootcamp.) I also lost about 100 pounds in the last 5 years. There is no stopping me. Now I want to teach Group Step and Group Kick.

I was so glad to see Debbie go. She was so rude. They forget that the winner what 3 seasons ago was Helen and, if I remember correctly, she was over 60. That was ridiculous. I actually liked Anna because she didn't yell and scream. She did admit that obviously she was going to have to push them harder because they are lazy. I haven't decided on the drill sergeant yet. I think the older team could still come thru. I always find that the teams with the heaviest people lose the most weight initially and I don't know if there is anyone that large on the older team.

It should be an interesting season.

I was unhappy with the older teams trainer, Anna. She seemed to let them off and said they couldn't do as much as the younger group could. She didn't push them at all. I liked the drill sargent, although I don't do well with someone yelling at me, he got results as did Bob and his team. I think the older folk with be off soon, and that is a shame because it sterotypes older people from being able to keep up with younger people and losing weight because of your age. I am 73 years old and lost 75 pounds and excercise daily. So whats with the age factor.

Shopping can be challenging

Sunday, May 08, 2011

Well on Tuesday I finally got back to my weight watcher go. I live in Sierra Visa Arizona and even though the Chamber of Commerce's motto is to shop local, it is really hard because the local store don't have much worth buying. In sierra vista I went to Sears, Walmart, Target, Dillards and even the second hand stores and all I found was some violet and peach colored capris in sears. I want COLOR!!!!!!!!! I went up to Tucson on Friday ready to buy some new clothes. In Tucson I went to Macy's, Sears and Dillards. At Macy's was way too expensive. I always thought Macy's in the Sears/Target price range. WRONG. A pair of shorts for $75, jeans over $150. I don't think so!!!!! Then the Sears in Tucson was about the same as the selection in Sierra Vista. I then went to Dillards. I did find a really cute short and blouse outfit that was reasonably priced. In turquoise. Color at last. I asked if there was anything similar in other colors and all they had was "drab" green. Now if they had pink, red, kelly green or royal blue, I would have bought those, also. When I specifically asked if they had shorts or capris in pink, the sales lady said everyone was looking for pink. Out of all the stores mentioned above the only pink I found was in Walmart but they only had size 6 and 18. All the stores where I asked about pink, I was told, "you know, lots of people are looking for pink." So I ask, why doesn't anyone have any pink?????? Well at Dillards, I left with about $40 worth or merchandise. It would have been much more and the sales person would have ended up with more commission had they had anything but turquoise and drab green.
Now don't even get me going on bathing suits. More about that in a future post.

I never heard of Christopher Banks and everyone tells me how good Kohls is. There isn't one in my town but was told there was one in Tucson. I tried finding it on my GPS and my phone when I was up there last weekend but couldn't find it. I am going to New England next week so hopefully I can find something there. Just makes me mad we have such unemployment in this country but some of us are employed, have some money to spend, but no where to spend it. Retailers, buy some stock, hire some people and make money. Simple economics.

I don't know if they have them in Arizona but try Christopher Banks or a Kohls Store. Both of those stores have a wide range of sizes and always have sales. Good Luck

Activities, Sunday, February 27, 2011

Sunday, February 27, 2011

Today we had to clean out the a bookcase (two sides of seven shelves each) and a schrank with all my good dishes and christmas dishs plus all kinds of photo albums. We had friends over to help move these two items. The bookcase is in the master bedroom, all the books are in Mike's office, the schrank is in the Arizona room and all it's contents are in the den and Mike's office. We then had to clean the master bedroom and put things away as they are also going to tile the master bath. In the evening we watched a couple of the shows we taped throughout the week.

My Wii Results, Sunday, February 27, 2011

Sunday, February 27, 2011

Wii "little guy" Day 464 my balance was way off today It was 40 .90 on the left and 59.1 on the right and "he" said possibly because I had my eyes closed. I did an update and now the left was 46.5 and 53.5 to the right.
The first test was the Basic balance test. I only completed four of five rounds in 30 seconds for 3.52, 3.08, 3, and 8.80. My previous score was 19.83 seconds.
The second test was the judgment test. I had to select number greater than 5. I got 19/20. I got distracted on one. The previous was 20/20 and my age was 30.
