Update ..... been absent a while....

Wednesday, July 31, 2013

Hi spark friends.... I'm finally getting my life back. I was recently able to get my mom in assisted living. She had been living with me for almost 2 yrs. She's in a great place and has made friends and great strides. It really was Divine Intervention. I was totally exhausted and missing my life when things opened up. I'm very grateful for both of us. Anyway, I have maintained my weight through this trying time. I'm resting up and figuring out what I will do next. My path is open before me and I want to get it right. Hope you are all doing well.. I'll be back and catching up. Love you all... emoticon

Glad you're back! Missed you! It is always difficult to go thru finding a place for our parents, but thank goodness you've found one that suits your Mom!

HUGS and smiles. Take time for yourself.

Good for you and good for your your Mom. It is exhausting. And two years of home care. Get rested and get back out there, way to keep the weight steady. I love that you gave God some credit.

Long time no see......

Sorry I haven't been on for a month or more. I've been keeping such a hectic schedule with work and taking care of my mom and she has had issues with health and I've been sick 3 times with colds plus. Bad coughing and just exhaustion. Still sniffling but feeling better.
I got down to 121 lbs even without really exercising for about 2 mos. I am always active however with cleaning snow or housechores you all know how it goes. Anyway, looking forward to spring and some rela

Sounds as if you & I have had the same bug! It does hang on, doesn't it? You are doing AMAZINGLY well to keep going with your mom's care plus a demanding job plus caring for your home, shoveling snow & all. And your relationship to food & level of physical activity have obviously changed for the good long term. I so admire you! Many blessings to you, & may there be time for good rest.

Saturday, August 25, 2012 an acronym in the English language for "False Evidence Appearing Real".

Fear and doubt are normal human reactions to growth. They are evidence of your past
limited beliefs about what is possible for your life. Don't be afraid of your fears. Embrace
them. To live well, do something different with your fears. See them as a sign of growth.
Use them to push you further ahead into the new vision you are creating.

Good food for thought! Fear can be a scary thing...but fear of the unknown is, in my opinion, the worse fear of all. I'd like to not let fear dictate what I can't do, but rather push me to realize what I'm capable of doing.

Thx for the post!

Fear for me arrives in many forms - becoming aware of how I experience and express fear is the first step to confronting it.

What Do You Call Home?

Friday, July 27, 2012

"Is home a place, a person, a thing or somewhere to go? Is it material or spiritual? Or…is it all of the above? What is home to you?"

Thought some may enjoy this short article written by Besty Karp.

Have an outstanding day!!! emoticon

For me it's a great gift to know God's love, which gives me a center, a home that goes with me everywhere.

Thanks for the link!

Good blog. And thought provoking. Home means many things for me. I always have two homes. When I was 11 my family emigrated to Canada, and for many years, :home" to me was always where I lived in Canada, plus Great Britain. Then many years ago DH and I moved 3000 miles across Canada. Now "home" means where we live, plus the part in Canada 3000 miles away where I lived for years, and where my parents are.

But in another sense - as the article talks about - home is within me. When I am being true to myself, I am "home." I know this because sometimes I have veered away from this, and when I have changed direction - I have a strong feeling of comgnig home to myself. Now, that is where I try to stay.

Where is home to you suz..... ?

I'll have to read the article later when I have more time, but home is definitely wherever my family is. The physical location does not matter.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!
