Water for me, thanks!

Saturday, December 11, 2010

Tonight I had a date with my husband to the movies...two things were different since I have been "Sparked". For one, we were one time, we even got to see the previews! Secondly, we had water as our beverage, free water. So our date cost a total of $8.00. I didn't even miss the popcorn and pop! Strange.

I did miss my work out...so I guess today will be my rest day. Back to the pool tomorrow!

P.S. The movie the Next Three Days is pretty good!

I'm with you. Now we can go to twice as many movies because we aren't buying popcorn and pop!

That's fantastic!!!!!! I'm so happy to hear that you are seeing positive results from all your hard work and changes. It's hard to break the habits, but when you finally realize that you're going to be just fine without all the things you used to have, it's such a great feeling! Keep up the amazing work, and keep drinking that free water!!! :)

It's weird, I'm not sure if I miss my diet soda. I still love it, but I've almost been completely soda free since September. From a challenge, posted by a Sparkbuddy. I did not stay free from sugar after the challenge was over. Now that would be something!

Congrats! On your healthy movie experience. That was really sweet of your hubby to abstain from the junk foods too. Hope you guys have many more of these experiences. Yeay healthy lifestyle!

I haven't drank soda in 2 years. I only drink water and sugar free fruit drinks. When I did drink soda it was diet, I have drank diet soda since I was about thirteen. I would have missed the popcorn though lol, I love popcorn.

Have you noticed how sweet soda is after you haven't drank it for a long while? My husband ordered me a soda at lunch the other day . Because it was so sweet, I couldn't drink it! I had
water with a slice of lemon instead.

Slept it off...

Saturday, December 11, 2010

Got a little overwhelmed and stressed yesterday....a little too much going on. Then in the evening my back went out...not what I need before clowning. So, took two naproxen and went to bed. I haven't been getting as much sleep as I need so I need to change that up quick! I am feeling better after getting some sleep but I can see that this season is only going to get more stressful the closer we get to Christmas!

On a bright note, I found my missing cell phone and will have a totally new room to teach Sunday School in tomorrow!

It's time to weigh in before I start inflating balloons for my parachute games and prepping my magic...a little discouraged about the scale, but then again I know I am losing weight in my stomach, and that is what counts for my health.

Have a great weekend!

Things always end up happening all at once like that. I hope your back is feeling better...nothing's worse than a sore back. The scale hasn't been kind to a lot of people today...but if you notice that you're losing weight by the way you look, you're doing something right!!

Awww, I hope things get better for you. You definitely need to make sure you get at least seven hours of sleep. Your body needs it to heal itself. I hope you have a great day today.

It's going to be a very Sparky Christmas!

Friday, December 10, 2010

Clowning around tomorrow for a party I know I should have said "No" to...57 kids, 45 minutes, pre Santa...yikes! I used to do the chicken dance, the hokey pokey, active games and as my weight increased my activity while working decreased...fat just kind of sucked the fun right out of me.

Well, she's baaack....or almost! My weight isn't budging too much, but my energy level is much higher and my waistline is smaller. I am ready to amp it up a bit...just not sure I have enough time to pull it all together.

Hit the pool today early, and only worked out for an hour. I find I am so hungry after working out all morning, I am going to experiment with doing a little less. After I get my "act" together for tomorrows performance I am going to do a toning video and now I am going to take the dogs out for a walk. Someone has been feeding them too many treats and now they need to be sparked as well!

It's going to be a Sparky Christmas....I bought my first presents for my kids, a football, a tennis racket and balls, and a yoga mat and Yoga DVD.

Totally inspired by a blog this morning...100 pounds walked off in a year! Time to charge up my I Pod and hit the streets...

Have a great day everyone! Happy Weekend!

Try and have fun with the kids tomorrow. Think of it as a little extra exercise!

And what was the blog you mentioned where 100 pounds were walked off in a year?

Swim, bike, run, DRINK WATER!

Thursday, December 09, 2010

Today instead of heading straight to the pool I hit the gym area of the health club, the place where all the hard core exercisers congregate. I started on the elliptical machine, which is easier on my joints. I stayed on for a half hour, then headed to the exercise bike. Did half hour on the bike. Next time I need to bring a towel because I am not used to sweating! It felt great. I wasn't going to swim but I did. I took it easy and swam an hour without counting lengths for a change. I finished with a 5 minute water walk, a whirlpool, then a sauna. The sauna is the absolutely best place to drink water! I joined the 28 day boot camp and am doing the winter 5% challenge so I am really motivated right now! Next time I am going to do the one thing that I haven't started yet...weight lifting. I got my Spark People Cardio DVD in the mail today that I won on the wheel. So excited! I am loving having time to work out and know that when and if I get a full time job instead of being self employed that is going to end, but I have decided that this time nothing is going to stop me from becoming healthy. If I do get the job that I am pursuing I will have to get up earlier and work out before I get the train or at night! My new motto is swim, bike, run, DRINK WATER!

Wow! You had a full plate fitting in all that exercise! I felt relatively lazy today with only a 2.5 mile walk.

Great motto!! It is harder to get your workout in with a full time job...but if you really want it, you'll find the time! I have faith that you'll be successful no matter what happens!

Progress...

Wednesday, December 08, 2010

Today actually was pretty productive. I cleared out lots of things from my garage that I no longer need in an effort to make room for a car. America's Disabled came to pick it all up. I worked out and swam my mile, a bit slower today! I guess you can overdo it, even swimming. I took our "found" kitty to be groomed and now she looks like a "Liger", shaved except for her head and tail. All the matted fur is gone. She looks a little silly. Found out she is a Persian. I took her to the vet to see is she is chipped but no chip! So for now anyway she remains a part of our family. I was super excited to actually lose a pound today, after the buffet lunch yesterday it is a miracle, but I will take it! Still tracking and drinking the water...

One day at a time!

Have a good one!

YAY! One pound is great! It always frustrates me on Biggest Loser when they get upset over losing "only" 6 pounds...do you know how hard I'd have to work to lose 6 pounds?! One step at a time...and it's a step in the right direction!! You're doing great!
